We have just returned from Kalamata. Hired a car for 5 days. Man called Leonidas dropped car off at our hotel. When inspecting the car he instructed us just to look for big problems & ignore little marks. Only drew our attention to scratches on wheel hubs, nothing else.
When returning the car they met us at Kalamata airport & immediately spotted a tiny scratch on one side of the rear bumper. (We needed glasses to see it!). We had no idea when it had happened & suspected it was there on collection?
He insisted that we had damaged the car & had to pay €70. We argued for some time but had a plane to catch & eventually gave him €40. We suspect that this con would happen again to whoever hired the car next?
WHAT A SCAM!!!
We are 2 pensioners and it has left us pretty shaky & we have lost confidence in hiring a car overseas.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We’ve just used Alex rentals whilst at messini beachclub - super service, we booked the car on the Saturday online and they dropped it off at our hotel on Sunday morning and were very flexible on pick up time as well. Good price (cheaper than our hotel would organise with full insurance) and the car was clean and tidy.
Alexandros dropped the car off and spent a good 10 minutes with a map recommending us local sites which was very helpful.
