The only domestic company that links Samothrachi to the main land. Not many good things can be said about the company. The ferry ride were available just for passagers, the 2 ships for cars transportation were not in service. The casier was at duty even on a friday evening, but had no information about the car transportstion, a phone call to the port authority gave us the information needed.

Normally, the ticket booth works fine. If there are problems with the boats the staff has low problem solving capabilities. They are bad at conveying information to large groups of people. (They don't put up signs) When we went, BOTH big ferries broke down. That's ok, things happen. People had to take a much smaller ferry instead, which could not carry cars and the cars were shiped with a separate boat. They only had the capability to sell tickets to the soonest scheduled departure. The staff didn't even put up a sign with the relevant information, or even just that the boats were broken, anywhere So people went to the harbour thinking they had a ticket to the ride home, and when the ferry came they were directed to change it at the ticket booth where 50 people were already queuing (or rather standing in a chaotic blob). These people had been standing there since 7 in the morning. The old sign on the door said they would open at 7. the day before they had told people verbally they would open at 8, but in reality they opened the doors at 9! If you were lucky, you could buy a ticket at 10. People were queuing for several hours just to be told things like: "No, we can't sell tickets for cars, come back later (but we dont know when)" "No, we can't sell tickets for tomorrow" "No we can't sell tickets for this evening, come back at 18:00" "No we can't sell you a ticket right now, because we have to change tickets for those who already bought returntickets " All of this could have been written on a piece of paper a d posted on their front door. Instead they let people wait on average 3h before letting them down. That's 3 hours of the telling people "no" instead of selling tickets. Thankfully, the police were there and kept some kind of order. (Though that should not have been their job)

I have traveled with saos ferries many times. I strongly believe that is an untrustworthy company. Saos ferries fleet is purely maintained. I have encountered mechanical issues multiple times. Safety level of the ships is bellow average and everything is linked with irresponsible company's policy with it's paramount goal 'cut cost' . I am very concerned about greek authorities that let ship owners run passenger ships in such condition. I am not writing this to scare people but to arise a concern to the local community and the people in control of this issue.

4 families, babies and pregnant women. Travelled abou a thousand kilometers to here, and we are waiting for two days on the shore because the ferry is broken. No communication at all. We have been told that the boat was going to be repaired and will leave late at night. Pure lies. We have booked hotels in Alexandropoulis hoping that the boat is going to leave. The boat staff only screams at us, giving no advice

It took about 7-8 minutes to get tickets for 5 people (4 return, 1 one way). I suppose it's a decent ticket spot. The staff member was helpful. There are no seats available at the exact spot of the ticket station, though there is a disabled resting place nearby.

The least trustworthy ferry company in Greece by far. Hundreds of passengers stranded in port for days with no briefing. Their ferries, logistics and service sucks! And unfortunately you have no other option due to their monopolistic practices for routes to Samothrace! A real detraction to Greece's tourism!

I’m a former seafarer and I was stunned how smooth and efficiently those guys work. From the ticket booking, loading and operation, everything was top-notch. Today I also realized they do that regardless the weather, 7 days a week. Thank you so much guys ???
