We have just returned from a magical five night stay at Aegagros Caldera Houses in Santorini. We were so welcomed by the owner Popi and Nila and Ilaeus who also look after the guests. It felt like a home from home, The villa was lovely and had lots of special touches to make us feel relaxed and the generosity of our host Popi was evident from the start. The villa was beautiful and had the most amazing views of the volcano and wonderful sunsets. I’m sure that there is no other place in Santorini that you could get a better view. Ilaeus brought us our breakfast every morning and laid it out on our stone table on one of our private terraces. Nila, his wife, made a different breakfast every day and it was always amazing with home grown fruit and vegetables and their own eggs with home made jams. We had the most relaxing holiday and will definitely be returning. Thank you Popi for your generosity and caring that made it so special

I should say that this is horrible stay, just to keep people away and keep this gem of Greece unspoiled. But that won’t be true. The truth is that Anastasia and her team created the perfect peaceful getaway for singles, couples and even families. It’s away from crazy Thira and Oia crowds and shops. Provides one of the most amazing views over caldera and even the island. It’s in a walking distance to Megalochori village, where you can find some restaurants, but once you’ll taste Aegagros own chef, Nila (I hope I spelled that right), specials, I just won’t feel any need to leave the premises at all. It’s the best choice in Santorini, especially if you’re fed up with commerce and crazy tourists way of travel and living. We will definitely be back.

The staff, the food, the facilities and of course the view made this the perfect place for an extra special celebration. As a surprise for our 25th wedding anniversary, I organised a trip to Santorini as my wife had always wanted to go there. Aegagros Caldera Houses was way out of my normal budget but for this occasion, something extra special was needed, and that was exactly what we got. The staff and owners were wonderful, always helpful, informative and friendly and the food, expecially the breakfast was something else. None of this is really unique to this price bracket or indeed always guaranteed but the apartment, the restuarant and the location were simply stunning. The attention to detail in furnishings and the decoration really made you feel that you were somewhere special, where people cared and took pride in what the did. From the start of the holiday when we arrived late in the evening on the day of anniversary to find them still ready to cook a wonderful meal with some of the best wine I have ever had with flowers for my wife as well as a special cake right through to the last evening when we were allowed to relax in the open air restaurant enjoying the view while we waited for the early morning ferry to take us to Athens, they couldn't have been more accommodating. So to Anastasia and the husband and wife team behind all the meals especially those amazing breakfasts, thank you for making this a special occassion neither myself or my wife, Gisa, will ever forget. The best 25th wedding aniversary I have ever had.

We were not guests of the Hotel but got a recommendation from somebody who was to enjoy a dinner at the Restaurant of the Hotel. I have to say it was the most romantic spot I've ever been and the food as well the service was absolutely awesome ! Nice to hear was that they want to keep this as a "secret" as otherwise it will get a too crowded spot.

We stayed in the honeymoon house. This was right on the cliff edge in front of the caldera. Traditional greek Breakfast was delicious and different everyday and felt so special eating it outside with the out of the world views. Perfect sunset views every day. Even got see a full moonset from our house. The staff were amazing. They were happy to do anything for you. We hired a car and there was plenty of space to park. Over all we were extremely happy with our stay here and the views made it extra special.
