We had the most delicious meal with the most friendly service I can imagine. Joanna (married to one of the owners) took time to get to know us, tell us about the area, and even brought out a free birthday treat complete with candles. Make sure to order the calamari. I’m pretty sure it’s the best I’ve ever had. You can get seats on the beach through this place as well and sip on some very affordable and delicious wine!

Unfortunately there are restaurants when you enter for the first time and you have big expectations, mainly because of the high mark on Google Maps, but when you leave it, you’re disappointed. Agistri is one of them. We ordered a big plate with seafood and it wasn’t good at all. A lot of things burned in coal and not tasty at all. We had an extra plate of octopus and it was difficult to chew, gummy, probably not prepared as it should be. The only thing we liked there were a little type of fish fried, like anchovies. For all the rest of plates, the restaurant needs to work on quality, cause the prices aren’t cheap. Next time when I would like to eat fish & seafood in Chania I will choose a different one. Later I noticed that they have fake reviews here made by them or their friends. Thumbs down ?

very lovely place to eat in the evening. stunning view at the sea and the owner is adorable! Hes such a nice and funny person. we love to go there every day. the food is fresh and tasty. especially the saganaki and the fish plates. Also take a bottle of wine with the fish plate. the waiter and the owner have a pretty good pick if u describe them what u like! Also very cheap!

Traditional tavern, delicious home made food and atmosphere. Beautiful sea view and sunset. I recommend sea food and zucchini balls.

On the plus side food was very tasty. We ordered the "Cretan mix plate served with Tzatziki" for two people for €25.90 and it certainly had all we wanted to try. But there was a catch: The price didn't include the starters (the Tzatziki) which for our surprise we had to pay apart. This is clearly false advertising and a trick not very pleasant to discover at the end of your dinner in the bill. Presentation of the dish was very bad: all squeezed into a small plate (see picture). The wine that came included with the combo was cheap retsina, which is the cheapest and worst of white wines, avoid it and get beer instead. The service was good: the boss was very helpful and the waitress were friendly and efficient. Price was fair and better value than places around.

After a dip in the sea, we wanted a light snack, and walked the 30ft to eat here. No complaints at all. Staff and food equally great. These dishes filled the 2 of us up adequately enough. Impressive price.

They told us a lot about Chania and made us feel at home. This place will always remain in our memories and we will visit it every time we come back to Chania.
