 Ancient Eretria, a great naval power as early as the 8th century BC, experienced periods of prosperity and decline until its final destruction by the Romans in 86 BC. Its most important monuments include the Temple of Daphne Apollo, the theater, the Temple of Isis, etc.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Acropolis hill of Ancient City of Eretria on top of modern town! Visit the museum, and walk the ruins across the road, visit the ancient theater. After that short walk climb the hill, investigate the acropolis fortification ruins and see the great view from the top.
