★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amfiteatr jest ogrodzony. Wejście tylko przez bramę. Jest bardzo duży i robi mocne wrażenie. Znajduje się na pustym polu tuż za Eretrią. Niestety jest otwarty jedynie we wtorek i piątek od 8:30 do 15:30 Po jego wielkości widać, że Eretria była w starożytnej Grecji ważnym miejscem.
 The amphitheater is fenced. Entry only through the gate. It is very large and makes a strong impression. It is located in an empty field just outside Eretria. Unfortunately, it is only open on Tuesday and Friday from 8:30 to 15:30. From its size, you can see that Eretria was an important place in ancient Greece.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο αρχαιολογικός χώρος του αρχαίου θεάτρου Ερέτριας αποτελεί το πολιτιστικό κόσμημα της πόλης. Η κατασκευή του χρονολογείται μεταξύ του 5ου - 4ου πρό Χριστού αιώνα και μετά την Περσική επέλαση στην Ερέτρια.
Εντάσσεται σε ένα ευρύτερο πλαίσιο αρχαίων μνημείων που περιλαμβάνουν τα απομεινάρια της δυτικής πύλης , το γυμνάσιο, του σταδίου, αρχαίων κατοικιών και του ναού του Διονύσου.
Άξιο αναφοράς και προσοχής είναι η τεχνητή επιχωμάτωση που έγινε για την κατασκευή όλου του έργου και όχι κάποια φυσική πλαγιά.
Η χωρητικότητα του υπολογίζεται σε περίπου 6.300 θεατές ενώ μετά τις καταστροφές των Ρωμαίων το 198 π.Χ. έχουν γίνει και άλλες δομικές επεμβάσεις.
Σήμερα τελεί υπό ανακατασκευή αφού με την πάροδο των αιώνων έχει υποστεί σημαντικές ζημιές.
The archeological site of the ancient theater of Eretria is the cultural jewel of the city. Its construction dates between the 5th - 4th century BC and after the Persian invasion of Eretria.
It is part of a wider framework of ancient monuments that include the remains of the west gate, the gymnasium, the stadium, ancient houses and the temple of Dionysus.
Worth mentioning and attention is the artificial earth that was made for the construction of the whole project and not some natural slope.
Its capacity is estimated at about 6,300 spectators while after the destruction of the Romans in 198 BC. other structural interventions have been performed.
Today it is under reconstruction since over the centuries it has suffered significant damage.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The ancient Theater Eretria is a mid-size theater, located on a slope of a hill, in the archeological site of Eretria, 500m north to the village of Eretria. The theater was built at around 330- 300 BC, during the Hellenistic era and it had a capacity of 6,000 spectators.
The theater was opened to the public some years ago, and a small number of theatrical performances had been held there at various times.
But unfortunately, the access to the site is forbidden now due to its advanced state of deterioration.
What a pity, because this historical site could become a great place for cultural events if was renovated!!
