★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just fly instead. Flying is faster, more organised and provides far better service. Nearly every aspect of my experience aboard the Nisos Chios from the very beginning has been highly disappointing, from the unexplained half hour delay standing in crowded boarding bays on Paros, to the frenetic and pushy boarding process through the aft bay of the ship to the shortage of available free seating necessitating many passengers queuing up immediately after boarding to purchase assigned seating upgrades at the understaffed reception desk onboard. Once we paid the additional fee to purchase assigned seats, the voyage improved somewhat but the first hour gave new meaning to the term 'cattle class'. Many of the people I encountered from both the passengers and crew appeared unhappy and irritated to be here, with the addition of confusion and bewilderment on the part of the passengers. Never again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always late and the seating is like an airplane so take as little luggage as possible there are storage areas but didn't know until after the fact somewhat coatic boarding and disembarking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Easy ticket purchasing for the islands of Aegina and Agistri. On Fridays make sure to book in advance or come at least an hour earlier as the Athenians travel for the weekend. Same goes for the way back on Sundays
