Sophisticated in elementariness (for example they use glass bottles not the common plastic). And the garden is so beautiful. We'd love to come back.
O	Olena (Olena) on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best place to visit at Crete! The view is picturesque! Owners are lovely people and food was superb tasty. Rooms are very clean and nice. There are great paths for hiking, we went down to the beach Agios Pavlos. Amazing time!

But the most important is to meet and spend time with the owners. Really amazing people, smiling faces, ready to help and sit next to you and share experiences and thoughts. Totally recommend and close to so many things to explore to the major area. Best place to relax and think, hike, enjoy the nature and be part of the local spirit. Try the food, trust the owners and enjoy the simplicity of life there. It's not just the place (which is amazing) but the people as well that make you feel like home.
I	Ian Warthin on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Alonia is a unique slice of heaven at the end of the road and the foot of the mountains. Be prepared for the meditative ringing of sheep bells to awaken you around 9am and then stop around cocktail hour. We overlapped with a group of ~10 French hikers who return every couple of years. As others have mentioned the nightly home cooked meals are unmatched and very affordable; the menu changes every night but the ingredients are all from within a couple miles and it shows. It's been two months since our two night stay and since then whenever I've needed to calm my work / life anxieties I've taken a deep breath and thought about waking up to those hills and the sweet ringing of those sheep bells.

The guesthouse is located in a very beautiful village, surrounded by impressive mountains and lots of olive trees - very calm and quiet place. It's a traditional village with some old houses. The guesthouse rooms are perfectly built with very good materials, which makes a very nice feeling. The room are spacious, super clean, comfortable bed, perfect temperature inside, amazing view from the window and the terrace just outside of the room. Owned by a local family - very nice hosts, that can also give you advise of what to do around. They also make delicious Greek food! The common area, where the taverna is, is very nice and it's a good place to meet other guests. Highly recommended place to stay, if you look for a village experience, nature, tranquility, excellent food and convenient room. Good hiking options all around the village. Fair prices for accommodation and food - great value for money. We hope to go there again !
