★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We loved this place - quiet beach away from tourists connected to a superb, friendly family run taverna serving great food. Sunbeds are free, some great waves to be had to keep everyone amused when there is a slight wind, some decent snorkelling out to the left and right of the beach, and even a small beach you can swim out to on the right-hand side if you are feeling adventurous.
Kids loved the wildlife they found in the river - turtles, fish, snakes, eels and more. Plus the kittens.
This was our beach of choice in Crete and if we come back it will be our beach of choice again. We just wished we'd found it sooner!
