A watch fortress from the time of ancient Greece that was located on a piece of Rock and you have the opportunity to see at the same time the mountain and the sea a spectacular view. It's worth a visit.

The fort is next to Nea Peramos. It's a dirt road. Currently (2020) the fortress is under restoration and cannot be accessed. The fortress walls are huge. The fortress was Byzantine.

Visited on a Monday morning, 23rd of May. Site was closed, no info table or any staff around. The site looks interesting on the outside though. No accessibility for people with mobility problems is also a major drawback.

A very accessible historic site, located just south of the beach. An ancient and medieval fortress, formerly a pirated nest, offers a superb panorama of the bay or village. Unfortunately, access to the premises is not allowed (we probably had bad luck when we visited it). In one of the walls was preserved the inscription with the date of the fortification building. In certain periods, the municipality organizes various shows with coloured lights, well visible on the cliff. Those with stately and loving legs can also visit the ruins on the top of the hill, 300 m southwest of the fortress. At the base of the hill on which the fortress was built, the access road has a bifurcation to the right, to the wonderful Amolofoi beach.

Great archeological site, open to the public. The scenery is ideal for a spring picnic or just an evening hike. Turns into a concert hall every August, you may want to avoid missing it if you're around at that time.
