The Ancient Theatre itself deserves 5 stars. Wonderful proportions, great acoustics and a superb setting with hills as a backdrop. If you are visiting together try out the sound with one on stage and others in seats, if alone, simply clap your hands with increasing volume to appreciate the reverberation. In July and August there are regular productions that merit a visit. There is a small museum - interestingly medical implements (many very similar to modern day). Many of the sculptures are reproductions with the original marbles now in Athens. The beautiful Corinthian column and the dogs' heads and single boar's head as ornaments for the top of Artemis temple are certainly worth viewing. Ancient spa, restaurant and hotel are interesting but easier to appreciate with a guide. Much is still roped off with archaeological work underway (so you cannot see the labyrinth or the tunnel to the stadium).

Cheap entrance fee. This place is memorable because you not only see the huge theatre but also get to experience its acoustics. Its incredibly well preserved so you really get to experience the ancient Greek life. This place is a must experience for Theatre lovers because this is where it all began

A wonderful and well preserved ancient place. It's incredible big and restoration works really bring the best in this ancient monument. The theatre is not the only thing to look for in this location - there are also ruins of sanatorium complex from ancient times, and a few still in restoration temples. This should be a MUST to visit in Greece.

Amazing theater that is a must visit archeological site in Greece. We were amazed by the acoustics of theater and the ruins in the area. Definitely worth climbing to the top and sitting to listen to the people at the lower level of the theater

The walk through to the theater is gorgeous, and the theater itself you can walk up through the levels and experience sitting and listening to the people on the ground level. The museum onsite had many interesting statues with explanation signs in Greek and English. Nice for a half day out to explore and enjoy!

It is rich in history and very well preserved. Ideal for the active person as a lot of walking is involved. With the new audio app available at a reasonable price make the whole experience much better.

This is definitely worth the drive from Athens. In fact, the drive was one of the highlights. The scenery along the way is beautiful. The theater itself is impressive and so are the surrounding ruins. You can see that there have been attempts to reconstruct some of the buildings but it doesn't look like any progress has been made in some time.
