Ο χώρος είναι ανοιχτός για το κοινό και η πρόσβαση είναι σχετικά εύκολη αλλά απαραίτητει τουλάχιστον αθλητικά παπούτσια. Το μονοπάτι είναι υπέροχο καλά σηματοδοτημενο και ξεκινάει από το Μουσείο Περιβάλλοντος Στυμφαλιας. Διάρκεια περίπου μια ώρα. Στο χώρο υπάρχει μικρό ξύλινο παρατηρητηριο πουλιών. It is directly opposite the Stymphalia Environment Museum. The venue is open to the public and access is relatively easy but requires at least athletic shoes. The path is wonderful well marked and starts from the Stymphalia Environment Museum. It takes about an hour. In the area there is a small wooden bird observatory.

Ιδρύθηκε από τον Στύμφηλο, γιο του Αρκάδα και εγγονό του Λυκάονα, ο οποίος έδωσε το όνομα του στην πόλη, αλλά και σε όλη την περιοχή.[1] Κατά τον Παυσανία η πόλη που ίδρυσε ο Στύμφαλος ήταν σε άλλο σημείο από αυτή που συνάντησε αυτός στην εποχή του. Κοντά στην πόλη βρισκόταν η Λίμνη Στυμφαλία, όπου ο Ηρακλής σκότωσε τις Στυμφαλίδες Όρνιθες.[2] Στην Στύμφαλο, κατά τη μυθολογία, ανατράφηκε η θεά Ήρα από τον Τήμενο, γιο του Πελασγού. Μάλιστα η θεά όταν τσακώθηκε μια φορά με τον Δία για κάποιο παραστράτημά του, εδώ ήρθε και κάθισε. Προς τιμή της υπήρχαν τρεις ναοί αφιερωμένοι στην πόλη, της Ήρας Παίς , για τα παιδικά της χρόνια στην πόλη, της Ήρας τελείας για τον γάμο της με τον Δία, και της Ήρας χήρας για την επιστροφής της μετά το παραστράτημα του Δια. Η αρχαία πόλη έχει ανασκαφή και είναι επισκέψιμη, έχουν βρεθεί η αρχαία αγορά , και ερείπια κτισμάτων των ρωμαϊκών χρόνων. Με το ίδιο όνομα (Στύμφηλος) ήταν γνωστή στην αρχαιότητα και η αρχαία Χαλκίδα. Stymphilos was the city of ancient Arcadia, in a place that is now administratively owned by the county of Corinthia. It was founded by Styphilos, son of Arcadas and grandson of Lykaona, who gave his name to the city, but also to the whole region. According to Pausanias, the city that Stymphalos founded was in a different place from what he met in his time. Near the town was Lake Stymphalia, where Hercules killed the Stymphalian Birds. [2] In Styphalos, according to mythology, the goddess Hera was raised by Temmen, son of Pelasgou. Indeed, the goddess when he was once struck with Jupiter for some shame, he came here and sat down. In honor of her, there were three temples devoted to the city, Hera Pais, her childhood years in the city, Hera for her marriage to Zeus, and Hera's widow for her return after the crossing of Dia.
