As marvelous experience discovering the links with the Ancient Greek myths I read as a child. The huge lion gate took my breath away. The ruins are marvelous to wander around, and again standing inside the mausoleum inspires a sense of wonder. A small museum has artefacts and provides information about the whole site.

I definitely suggest to come to visit it in the lower season, from November to March, the tickets are half price and you can move around without the Greek heat. What remained in my mind were the Lion gate, Atreus Tomb and the water cistern. It is really convenient cause you can enter everywhere, even in the museum and the Atreus Tomb with the same ticket. I would suggest to combine the visit also with the city of Nafplion, the first Greek capital, in this case maybe is better if you ask the ticket that let you enter many places in the area (especially if you visit in the High season)

Amazing site to visit. Be ready to climb the hill but it is doable and worth it. Good museum on site.

Breathtaking to walk the halls of Agamemnon and the house of Atreus. You can feel the epic of Homer here. The ruins are in pretty remarkable shape and well labeled. The site has a museum in walking distance. One thing I higjly recommend is to go to the center of the two tholos style tombs (Atreus and Lion). The acoustics are amazing.

It is very difficult to find words to describe the emotions this place evokes. To walk around the ancient Acropolis of Mycenae meant walking in the footsteps of my ancestors and admire what they had achieved. The route around the ruins took about an hour and each location had an information board describing what each building was. The views of the valley were breathtaking, and the tombs along with the Lion Gate were awe-inspiring.

I fell in love with this place; I went twice in 2 days! So much to see, any historian or otherwise would be enchanted. The artifacts and premises are kept exceptionally well, and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. I would love to return one day, God willing!

This was one of the unexpected delights of our trip in Greece. I was not aware of this archaeological site prior to visiting, but it ended up being my favorite. The tomb is breathtaking due to its sheer scale and level of preservation. The rest of the site is on a steep hill, which was very windy when we visited. The views are amazing and the ancient site is very interesting. I recommend visiting with a guide.
