Small museum but beautiful objects in exhibition. Few visitors so try, it is an excellent experience.

The highlight of my visit to Marathon. They have the remnants of the Trophy of Marathon here as well as artifacts from the Tumulus of the Athenians and Plateans. So lucky to have met the curator/manager, Anastasia. She gave us a private tour of the inside of the Tumulus of the Plateans. My wife said she felt like ‘Indiana Jones’. Super memorable for me.

Very hard to get to if you don't drive. But some unique archaeology for sure, you can tour the grounds and see some tombs too. Also dogs were a bonus. They don't speak English but happily let us roam around when we showed our student cards.

A really interesting museum in a fascinating area. The exhibit is small but filled with really interesting artifacts. A very neat display with information in both Greek and English for everything. The staff is super friendly and speaks decent English. There are also two tombs sites (tumulus) in the museum area, one is in a building right next to the museum and one can be seen only with a tour guide from the museum's staff and resides within a short walking distance. Really worth the visit. A ticket costs 6 Euros, I think it's worth it. Also it is very nice to see that while other historical monuments in the area are lying there completely neglected, this museum and its dedicated staff take care and pride of the history they help to preserve.

Even though it is a small museum it is very unique. The excibits are worth seeing especially the tomb of plataies. In general the whole place is very relaxing and except your museum visit you can also enjoy a nice Walk through the valley filled in camomile and poppies(at least now, in spring). The fees are also value for money because with 6€ you get all the entrances not only one cite.
