Bit difficult to find in the middle of farmland far from everything. If you are in the Marathon or Schinias are and have a car with excess petrol on the tank then go and have a faint feel of ancient greatness...

R	Rob Andrews on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not much to see. Kind of like a lot of civil war battlefields in the US. It's a pasture with some groves of trees, here-and-there. But there's a special feeling you get, just thinking about what happened in 490 BCE. The site of Thermopoly is much more well defined with the mountains and the pass. This looks like what it did in 480 BC. Except the bay is now silted up, where the water was. Both are reachable on a day tour from Athens

D	Damian Joniec on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place is a bit difficult to find. Follow Google Maps directions. It's 4 km away of Marathon Town center. Calm, climate place with the column, small church and the bell that you can ring to the memory of brave Athenians ?

H	Håvard Siegel Haukeberg (Howie) on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hidden away at Marathon you find this important monument to the battle where the Athenians and platean farmers beat an empire. There is plenty of parking and the monument is accessible with strollers and wheelchairs. It can be hard to find the correct way, try to follow Google and not venture off.
