★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο πευκόφυτος αυτός λόφος, εκτάσεως εκατό (100) περίπου στρεμμάτων γνωστός με το όνομα "Πύργος" (παλ. Δράμεσι) Αυλίδας είναι γνωστός από παλιά διότι φέρει κατάλοιπα προϊστορικών συνοικισμών, στις πλαγιές του δε μυκηναϊκούς τάφους.
Για το λόγο αυτό κηρύχθηκε αρχαιολογικός χώρος.
Πρώτη κήρυξη έγινε το 1952 (1/Β/2-1-1952) & δεύτερη κήρυξη το 1965 (ΦΕΚ 404/Β/6/7/1965).
Το καλοκαίρι του 2000 ο δήμος Αυλίδας προέβη σε αποψίλωση του χώρου στη Β πλάγια για να αποφευχθούν τυχόν πυρκαγιές. Η αποψίλωση έφερε στην επιφάνεια λείψανα αρχαίων κτιρίων.
Η ΙΆ Εφορεία Προϊστορικών & Κλασικών Αρχαιοτήτων αμέσως διενήργησε ανασκαφική έρευνα με εργάτες και επιβλέποντα αρχαιολόγο που χρηματοδότησε η οικογένεια Ε. Μαλαματίνα και ο Δημοτικό Σ/γος Νικόλαος Σιακαντάρης.
κατά την ανασκαφική έρευνα αποκαλύφθηκαν τα θεμέλια τεσσάρων (4) τουλάχιστον δωματίων, δρόμος κ.λ.π. Οι τοίχοι είναι κατασκευασμένοι από αργούς, ακανόνιστους λίθους. Ένας τοίχος εξ' αυτών όμως είναι κατασκευασμένος από κροκάλες. Χρονολογούνται στους μυκηναϊκούς χρόνους.
 This pine-covered hill, with an area of about one hundred (100) acres known as "Pyrgos" (formerly Dramesi) of Avlida is known for a long time because it bears the remains of prehistoric settlements, and on its slopes Mycenaean tombs.
For this reason it was declared an archeological site.
The first proclamation was made in 1952 (1 / Β / 2-1-1952) & the second proclamation in 1965 (Government Gazette 404 / Β / 6/7/1965).
In the summer of 2000, the municipality of Avlida deforested the area on the B side to avoid any fires. Deforestation brought to the surface the remains of ancient buildings.
The 11th Ephorate of Prehistoric & Classical Antiquities immediately carried out an excavation with workers and a supervising archaeologist funded by the E. Malamatina family and the Primary School Nikolaos Siakantaris.
During the excavation, the foundations of at least four (4) rooms, a street, etc. were revealed. The walls are made of rough, irregular stones. One of them, however, is made of cobblestones. They date back to Mycenaean times.
