A prehistoric tumulus was discovered here. It dates from the end of the Middle to the late phase of the Early Bronze Age ( 2.300 - 1.900 BC). The circular stone enclosure contained 30 circular graves, each of which contained vases with the ashes of the dead. The cemetery is a unique example in the wider area of Greek Macedonia, both in terms of its construction structure and the burial practice of the burning of the dead. From the vases revealed in the area we can conclude that the area and the specific area of Kriaritsi had commercial relations with areas of southern Greece. The findings from the systematic investigation of the wider area, show that this area was used for agricultural facilities from the Early Bronze Age (3000 B.C) to the Roman period (2nd century A.C). A circular building of the Hellenistic period (4th-2nd century B.C) was discovered in Kriaritsi and is still visible. It is located on the west side of the present location (check on the google map as well)
