★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The house of the administrator of the Metohi of Dionysiou Monastery. Οne of the rooms of the upper roof was used as a chapel by the name of "Agios Trifon". The metohi was established in Sykia in the 15th century. The area was expropriated by the Greek state in 1932.
Since the 13th century, the area around Sykia was a productive space of mount Athos monasteries.The organization of these farms required the attraction of cultivators, from whom it seems that Sykia was established.
The term "Metohi" refers to a farm belonging to a monastery (monk's monastery), in which there is usually a small chapel and residence for the monks who cultivate the particular farm.
