Ares Athens Hotel - Pireos 7

Location of the hotel is very sketchy. Don't go out in the evenings, police everywhere we were told it's similar to a red light district. The hotel was clean, beds where hard as rocks. The "breakfast" was a chocolate croissant with coffee and tea. It was noisy on the street which we could hear in our room all night!

The hotel is nice and staff were great. The hotel location is in crowded area, so it may be a bit not safe and not so quiet, unless your getting the upper floors. There is a small shop just in front of the hotel which is very convenient, and the train station is super close.

I had a spotless, comfortable room (with a balcony!) and easy, friendly service. I didn't find the location particularly unsafe: the hotel is on a main street and very close to Omonia square. At this price level I think the value for money is excellent.

Didn't like the bathroom, too small shower. In general ok for this money.

As expected. Room was small but it had a nice terrace. Bed was full of springs. Showerhead was aimed for very tall people and was not adjustable other than holding by hand.

For people who love to travel, people who love to explore cities new to them, there are moments or discoveries that stand out and give the worth beyond what 'value and 'ratings' are supposed to be able to describe. That's why the 32€ (!!!) I paid per night isn't the real story. Had I paid twice as much, I still would have loved this place. Gracious service, clean well- appointed room, super location (that is, yes, funky for people with no sense of adventure) a big private terrace from which you can see the illuminated fountain of Omonia square- what a find!

My message is addressed to the management of Ares hotel. what happened was shame and not accepted . I'm a regular client stayed last autumn 2.5 months spending over 2000 though i know that for those money i could have rented a villa at the sea side. i came back 12 days ago i had an intention to stay again for a while , i was surprised when the receptionist told me that my room won't be available from the next Saturday and i have to leave by saturday, bad wrong way !!is that the going way to treat a client ? iam a frequent client ,we have a vila in paleo psyhico po box 154 52 but because i got used to stay at that hotel i keep coming there , thanks for the receptionist Mrs Dora the polite lady that i really sympathize her she took side with me and called the supervisor about that issue , but the supervisor told her if i pay more 10 euro they would let me go on staying at the room though when i arrived at the hotel the receptionist Mr Nikos made a deal with me for 30.5 per day and i stayed 8 days there but suddenly the hotel's management didn't keep their word or respect the deal they asked for more money its not right and shameful. Any way i didn't wait for Saturday to leave i left the hotel immediately after what has happened . beside ,this time when i came back to the hotel i was given a very small room extremely small bathroom and Tv like a laptop's screen along with poor awful views. What happened was not really expected! Its not the money or the 10 euro for me , but it's a matter of concept, principal and respect that i can't comprise on! that is to say to a client either you pay more or leave by saturday! Thats why i left immediately without hesitation.
