Aristea Hotel Rethymnon - 110 Martiron 110

Absolutely not oriented and focused to the just married guests, COCKROACHES in the room! Although it was our honeymoon and the hotel was informed about it, we did not receive any welcome drink or any surprise upon arrival. For example, other hotels surprised us with a bottle of wine (which cost 3-4 EUR in supermarket), but Aristea hotel has ignored it. An even bigger shock awaited when we get in our room ,where we found TWO SEPARATE beds. Please imagine: you are spending your honeymoon in two separate beds. Wow, wonderful experience was from the beginning. Let's go further. Pool was working only until 7 PM, what was really annoying. They said, that it is because of Covid safety measurements, but it's an absurd statement - how it will impact on Covid infectons, for example, 1 hour longer working hours? When we return from day trips to Aristea hotel, it were always almost 7 PM and we were unable to use a pool. Absurd situation. Another big misunderstanding was breakfast and how they serve it. People are forced to wait in the lobby, until they are allowed to enter the breakfast area. You can't choose anything, because all food is behind the glass. You tell the woman what would you like to eat, you are getting it and... that's all. You can't repeat anything, you can't choose something else, for example, if you didn't like your chosen option. You can't even repeat another glass of juice. Another absurd situation - people are sitting near each other (in a very packed area), they were forced to wait in the lobby near each other, but you can't choose food on your own, because hotel takes Covid security very seriously. Laughing through tears. And the worst part - cockroaches in the room!!! In the morning we have opened a kitchen drawer in our room and found A BIG BIG BLACK cockroach. Picture attached. We have asked for an immediate transfer to another room, upstairs. Hotel accepted this request, but this "nice" memory will last forever. Won't ever return to this hotel at any costs. Thins I loved: I really loved girl named Vivi from the reception. She was amazing and very helpful. Unfortunately, she was unable to compensate hotel's downsides. Things what we really loved also were: location, you need just 2 or 3 minutes to go on foot to get to the beach. Parking in front of the hotel was free, but very small. It was strange, but we always succeeded to find a parking slot here. But other guests were not so lucky. Minimarket in just in the opposite side of the hotel, but it was small and expensive. Hotel was clean enough, but it has many stairs without elevator. If you are carrying heavy suitcase, trust me, you won't be happy to live downstairs or upstairs.

We were very happy with this hotel. It’s in a great location with clean, big rooms, a nice breakfast, and nice staff. On a stretch of sandy beach with your choice of chairs and umbrellas for 5 euros per set. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Short drive or slightly longer walk to the old town. The receptionist was helpful with restaurant and sightseeing suggestions. Thanks for a great stay!

Very nice hotel, especially for families. Very friendly and helpful receptionists. It's in a quiet location but only 30 minute stroll into the centre of Rethymno.

Me and my Girlfriend stayed at the Aristea Hotel for 11 days and we absolutely loved it! We had a great view at the sea from our balcony and the whole resort was very tidy and clean. All the staff members were really friendly and their service was amazing. The kitchen equipment could have been better but it was good enough to cook in a basic way. If you want to be closer to the sea you need to go camping at the beach. All in all it was a terrific stay here and we´re already planing to come back next year. It´s definitely worth the journey!

I really liked this hotel. Very clean with some modern decor mixed in with Mediterranean. Light airy reception area. I didn't observe a lift. Carried my suitcases up two flights of stairs. Stayed in a triple room with balcony at the side of the hotel. Not many bells and whistles, but enough to make you feel at home. They have a breakfast but it's buffet. Outside pool and bar area to lounge.

Vivi and Vicky are amazing. If the world would be Full of people like them we wouldn’t have wars or anything like this :) The apartment was really Big, Only the water was cold :( Two balconies and kitchen annex - simply great. Also Big living room. One minute to the beach :) Running Even less!

My daughter and I were so pleased to have made the choice to stay at the Aristea Hotel. We couldn't have wished to meet such friendly and helpful staff, especially Vicky who from the moment we arrived went out of her way to welcome us and explain what amenities and facilities there were in Rethymnon. The breakfasts were very ample with enough to take back to the room to have for lunch. Our room was very clean and equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, 2 ring electric cooking device plus ample crockery, pans etc for two people in the event we didn't want to dine out. The pool and sun loungers were always lovely and clean. We can safely say we will definitely be returning to holiday in Crete and at the Aristea and will be recommending the hotel to our family and friends.
