In difficult times, changes and administrative reforms are taking place in order to adapt the university to the standards of European universities. Employee effort fills the gaps created by lack of resources and funding. Well done!

Im Jahr 2004 stammten mehr als 50% der wissenschaftlichen Bücher und Studien Griechenlands aus Forschungen, die in Athener Forschungszentren und Institutionen durchgeführt wurden. The school does intensive research. Much of the results of this research have significant practical applications, direct or indirect, in both teaching and other areas of life. The University of Athens works closely with the National Center for Scientific Research, Demokritos ‘National Research Foundation (EIE), the National Observatory of Athens, the Hellenic Pasteur Institute and others. In 2004 more than 50% of Greece's scientific books and studies came from research carried out in Athens research centers and institutions.
