Avant Garde Suites - Akrotiri [Caldera]

Can't speak highly enough of this place!! Location and views are spectacular. Our room/courtyard had uninterrupted views of the Caldera. The staff are fantastic, super friendly and really helpful. Highly recommended!!

Did not have the pleasure of staying here, but a friend of us did. During his stay it was his birthday. We wanted to deliver something nice, so we called the hotel to ask if we could treat him on some room service (bottle of wine or so). I talked to Mariana of Avant Garde on the phone and she took the effort of checking possibilities and called back with some really nice suggestions. After our 'ok' she made all arrangements and our friend got a very nice birthday treat including ordering a birthday cake with candle to blow out! Thank you Marina and Hotel Avant Garde Suites!

We have returned from our stay at your property between 19th and 24th May. The accommodation was not very overwhelming when compared to the photos and videos of the property. Few things we did not like and went wrong during our stay: 1. The Indoor swimming pool - The pool was not heated and was freezing cold and we reported this on 20th May at reception. The response from your staff was that they will have it checked. No-one got back to me that the problem was sorted and I had to enquire myself. On 21st as well this was not sorted. We travelled with our son and one of the reasons for booking your property was the Indoor heated pool. Was very disappointed by this. When you claim to have an indoor pool this shouuld be working condition. 2. Jacuzzi in the room - On 20th May, when we got up in the morning we saw that the Jacuzzi was not cleaned and was full of dirty water. We checked in on the 19th Late night. How can this not be cleaned before we check in? Very disappointing. This is one of the selling points for the room saying - Premier Jacuzzi Room. Also on the 21st of May the Jacuzzi was not working at all and we had to request your staff to sort out. 3. Breakfast - The breakfast is served in the room which is very prompt service. But the breakfast is not covered when brought from the kitchen which makes it absolutely cold by the time it reaches the room. The coffee was cold and no point in drinking cold coffee. Also, we found strand of hair in the cereal. Find attached photos for this. Bringing food in open air without cover is a Health and Safety hazard and is totally unacceptable. The room rates were quite high and we expected much better quality of accommodation than what we received. The facilities we paid for were non-functional. We have not got our money's worth which is quite disappointing. This has impacted our quality of holiday.

Excellent location overlooking the caldera and the volcano but relatively far from Fira and Oia. Wonderful, very well heated indoor pool. Very good breakfast, served in the room, although it could contain more local products. Miss Sissy was very friendly and kind. Have in mind that it might be a bit cold if it's windy.

I would compare this place to those high heels that look amazing on you but hurt your feet at every step. The hotel has incredible views which you cannot always enjoy because of the tremendous wind which lirterally forces you to be in your room (we were there beginning of july) and when you can actually enjoy the pool area, the furniture looks quite cool and modern but is so very uncomfortable. Breakfast was eatable and we could never eat it outside because of the wind blowing everything (same thing about using the outdoor jacuzzi) . Granted, the hotel cannot control the weather, but we went to another hotel with the same problem and they actually came up with a nice solution to protect the guests from it without compromising the view. If you stay here, better get a car, restaurants and attractions are much better and cheaper in the other areas of the island and you cannot reach anything by foot. The experience was nice to have of course, the view alone and pics you can make there will make your day nicer, but i think what you can actually enjoy vs what you pay, is not worth it.

We spent our honeymoon here last June 2019. It was a good choice! Our room was decent and with a jacuzzi and amazing Caldera view!! Receptionist was kind and breakfast were always given to us in our room. Such an amazing place to stay. It is quiet and just quite far from the city center.

The place have a fantastic view. It's their main selling point. It was simply amazing to wake up everyday and enjoying the view. The breakfast is served just outside of the room. It was a bit difficult at first to determine what were the portions size though since we have to order the breakfast the day before. The food is okay. The service was perfect. The staff was mostly kind. The rooms are big and spacious. I would have given a 5 star review if it wasn't that the jacuzzi was broken when we got there. We mentioned it and the lady said that she would have someone to look at it. The temperature of the jacuzzi was too cold to enjoy it. We were quite sad because it was another selling point for that hotel and the others rooms' jacuzzi were working just fine.

A magical place. This hotel is absolutely fantastic. The view on caldeira and the swimming pool are amazing, a true paradise. The room is comfortable. The restaurant and the breakfast are VERY good. And mostly, the staff are the most adorable people in the world! Thank you SO much for your hospitality and your incrédible kindness. Thank you for making this stay even more memorable. We highly recommend this hotel it was really perfect. We will come back for our next trip in Santorini and we cannot wait!!
