We are deeply disappointed from the conditions we found there. Despite the picturesque view from our room, we had the most awful experience during a hotel stay ever. While entering the room we realised it was not clean, both the inside and pool area. We asked twice for cleaning without a relevant response, only excuses. The room was full of ants!!!!, they were everywhere, in particular on our pillows, my wife and I were bitten, after calling the reception at 02:00 they answered, there was only one person on duty for the whole hotel and would consider our query after 2 hours!!! At 03:00 an ant crawled into my right ear, then we decided to leave the hotel at our first night and find another place to stay. Since then I have constant complaints from my ear, I am on local medications prescribed by an ENT ( ear, nose , throat doctor). Unfortunately, there are many other things to complain about. The first telephone contact was annoying. As I called the reception of Ambassador Santorini from my other 5 star hotel in Myconos, where we had vacations some days before, in order to organise our transport from the port to the hotel, the first thing they mentioned is the price 20 € /adult person + 10 for our 9 year son...unusual for a 5star hotel...in particular, when we are charged more than 700€ for a night...we travel a lot , in the last 10 years I cannot recall another 5 stat hotel , without a free shuttle transport to and from airport. They spoiled the first contact with the customers, so we preferred to call a taxi on our own instead. Since we arrived at the hotel late evening , we have chosen to eat at the hotel's restaurant, I was brought another meal, not the one I ordered, as I mentioned that they simple answered 'sorry' but they charged it at the bill!!! The facilities are for sure some decades old and not appropriately maintained, too much dirty and moisture in the walls and ground, the bath of my room ( cave suite with pool) was definitely not attractive, the staff was not happy and seemed to have other concerns, the service was awful. Imaging that they have only apologised for the situation but have not returned my claim for the booking. They need a modern management , they should prioritise the needs of customers not only take advantage of them... In conclusion, there are much better 5 star hotels in Santorini with beautiful view ( almost every 5 star hotel in Santorini has a marvellous view), appropriate service and better location, for instance in Fira, Imerovigli or Ia.

Clean rooms and private pool, a larger public pool is available aswell. Good service including food and drinks delivered to your room. It can sometimes be a bit windy which* causes the pool area to be a bit sandy, but that will also be cleaned by the housekeeping service. The restaurant is great aswell with a large selection of food and drinks. The personel is very friendly aswell. All orders to your room are free except for breakfast which costs an additional 10€.

The perfect stay! This hotel is unique, beautiful and the staff members are very kind. The view from our cave room with private pool was to die for. The spa is also a great way to enjoy some peaceful and quite moments. It offers a wide range of services, all very relaxing. I absolutely recommend this hotel.

The staff and service are wonderful, warm and accommodating. Excellent views from the hotel, and the pool in the room is the cherry on the cake. Loved the massage at their excellent spa as well! Thank you Ambassador Aegean for making our Santorini stay stress-free and memorable!

My family stayed 3 nights at this hotel in mid-April. I paid around 540 euros per night in the hopes of being able to swim every day, but in the end I couldn't swim. Santorini in April is very chilly for swimming and the pool is open in all weather conditions. I heard that only cold water is possible even if the weather was some chilly. And the room smells a bit of paint. It was a bit cold in April even with the heater turned on at maximum. And because Santorini is an island, the wind is often very strong, but the long cushions on the table chairs by the pool didn't seem to be washed often. It even fell into the pool water due to the wind and it seemed to be reused without washing. It was a bit unusual for the cleaning team to come and clean the room with water. And there is an extra bed that covers the side, and it was good that it was provided for free. This hotel is a bit far from both Fira and Oia, so the taxi fare to Fira every time you go out is about 25-30 euros (50-60 euros round trip). And I didn't eat breakfast in the room, but went to the restaurant and ate it, and it was very delicious and wonderful. The man serving is also friendly and you can choose the food. The food was great. If I visit this hotel again, I would like to go in such a weather that I can swim a lot in summer. It was such a memorable trip..

Excellent hotel in a really great location. Just outside of the main tourist hotspots so nice and quiet but not isolated. The resort is very steep so make the most of the complimentary buggy service!

We had a great stay at the Ambassador! We had a slight issue with our room upon check in and requested a room change and they took care of it quickly. It's a little out of the way of the main towns of Fira and Oia but the island is small so they're just a cab ride away (that's also a plus because it's so quiet at night - no nightlife noise!) Also the view is amazing! Every room looks over the caldera. I recommend for anyone looking for a hotel on the caldera that's away from all the (loud) touristy areas.

Stayed in an infinity cave suite with a plunge pool, the room was clean, simple, and beautiful. The private patio with the plunge pool was perfect, with an incredible view of the caldera. The entire resort was great, beautifully maintained and designed. The food and drinks at the restaurant were delicious. The concierge service was above and beyond our expectations, they were all extremely helpful, responsive and friendly. They arranged for outings for us and for a rental vehicle, it was so easy and relaxing for us. We loved the proximity to the main street area of Akrotiri, we walked to it a couple of nights (about a 10 minute walk) and were able to enjoy food and drinks from local restaurants.
