An exquisite museum that take you on a historic journey through the centuries of Greek history. showcasing incredible art, artifacts and sculptures. Presented to the highest standard and placards to share origins and information. A very special exhibition of John Craxton's life and pai tings (British Artist) who called Crete is home. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

A vast museum cataloguing almost every facet of Greek life. Probably worth visiting in two sessions (or more), as it's such a large museum. The café on the top floor has a stunning view.

A hidden gem. Wonderful displays, excellent in all respects. Be sure to take rooms in order but leave energy and time for later rooms on upper floors.. they are the best. Had lunch here and it was yummy. Be sure to call and make a reservation and eat halfway through visiting exhibits.

I especially liked the icons because of the colors and gold. It's a wonderful museum and a half a day wasn't really enough. The exhibits were well organized so if you follow the numbers you would understand what you are seeing.

Went to visit the museum on a Thursday evening and it was for free and opened till midnight. They have a wide collection, containing vases, jewelry, paintings, fashion and more. Very impressive how well maintained all the old pieces are! The building itself is also stunning.

This is a must! The curation is outstanding, such a great eye for presentation. Cool that it is in a mansion which makes it a little less overwhelming even though there is so much to see. The little cafe restaurant above is a welcome break after the visit. The recreated rooms with furniture, the clothing and jewelry exhibits were definitely highlights for me, but the whole thing was so diverse from sculptures to weapons and everything in between.

It’s alright, buy a ticket beforehand because queuing takes forever, how hard is it to buy a ticket? The museum itself had a few cool things, top floor was closed when we arrived. For me, it was ok, you see a lot of Greek Culture and history, but there are better museums and galleries in Athens.

If you are staying longer in Athens, than this is worth doing. I would not priorities it given there are so many nicer and more interesting things to to do. The collection is mostly made off orthodox art, jewelry and clothing. The most interesting things are probably the very old figurines and pots on the ground floor. You definitely don’t need two days and can be all done in a couple of hours.
