★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Adrianus water system to ancient times its a great engineering work to provide city with water apart from local water wells that existed in all Attica.The attached photos in this site are taken in the area of Halandri are sealed from the Water Company EYDAP and in my today passage along those ancient Wells that underground feed still now the Adrianus Cistern in Kolonaki were opened for inspection as I was told from local people.It's amazing the way they worked two thousand years and more to design buIlt and provide pure water to Athens.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fascinating, can be viewed around the clock, situated in a must-visit historical neighborhood, just to be clear, you cant enter inside, you look inside through plexiglass (for the sake of preservation)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Dexameni (Kolonaki)area is enjoyable, quiet, distinguished. Lovely playground x children. Reservoir site closed due Covid. Recommend aperitif with a view at famed 5* Lycabettus Hotel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An ancient cistern that was constructed in 140 AD by Hadrianos emperor. It was abandoned and was rediscovered in 1870. It is very well preserved and you can see it through three big windows. It was part of the water system of Athens. There is no entrance fee.
