Α ruined tower near Nikiti, Halkidiki. It is probably dated to the 14th century. In the beginning of the 14th century, there was only one village in the whole of area of Nikiti: This is "Psalida". There are very few traces left of this village today, because the land it occupies today is arable land. We do not know when this village was destroyed. The village is not recorded in the 1330 which leads to the conclusion that it was probably destroyed during the raids of Catalans (From Spain) in Halkidiki in the years 1307-1309. During this period (beginning of the 14th century) it seems that the settlement, whose development is the village of Nikiti, began to be created. We obtain the information from documents of the Xenophontos Monastery. On the "land of Nakitos" "settlers" are installed to cultivate the large estates of the monastery. It appears from the census documents that the parishioners are gradually increasing, and it seems that the inhabitants of Psallida must have been added to them. In 1352 it is reported that "at Neokitou" there is also a tower for the security of the area, which is probably the tower in question.
