I definitely recommend taking a walk from Toroni and visiting this place with a panoramic view. The path lies along a shady and uncomplicated path with picturesque views. You will definitely not regret it!

Very painful route but with a beautiful view. Quite difficult for families if not impossible. * THERE ARE NO RULES! *

Steep climb is worthwhile. Along a quiet hiking trail you will find two hidden beaches (stone beaches, good for snorkeling but swimming shoes or flip flops are recommended) and rock formations towards Canons. It's worth it for the view you get. Important. Do not try to get up here with flip flops. It's too steep for that. It is also no time just run up. There are 4 cannon stands to discover. It's best to leave, then you have the best around view

Excellent historical place with fantastic view. The path that leads to the cannons, runs through olive trees under the shadow of a rocky hill.

Oral evidence indicates that during the German occupation of World War II, German submarines were parked in the port because of the considerable depth of the bottom of the sea. A military group of 120 Germans was also settled in Porto Koufo. During their stay the Germans built their facilities, including a hospital located on the dividing line between Koufo and Antikoufo, remnants of which are still visible today. The highlight of their building project was the three gunshots at the entrance of the harbor Also, At the entrance of the harbor, a steel net was placed beneath the sea surface, connecting the two sides of the entrance. The net, part of which is still present, was held by large barrels that filled the air by lifting the net to the surface to protect German ships at the port. The turret cannon is submerged in the section of the steep shore below the fire and about three meters deep. The route to reach the "Canons" as the place is called today is unique.

This remainings are part of the German Army Base during the Second World War From whom Germans controled the entry in to the Porto Koufo bay. This was one of two top hill bunkers wich was heavely armed with antiboats and antiaircrafts canons and machineguns. All of the base consisted of 4 parts. Two bunkers on the top of the hill above the main stationery building and little port down from the main stationery building at the beach. Thanks to Toroni citizen Christos Melissis there are a very good paths that begins from ancient Fortress Lekitos all over to the all four mentioned objects and spots. The name of the paths complex is "To the Canon" because of the Canon that German soldiers throw in to the sea while running away infront of the Greek liberators.

There is an observation deck on the site. There were cannons during WWII. The views are very beautiful. There are remains of bunkers around. It takes about an hour to walk - a normal pace. Avoid the hottest hours of the day.
