Best Restaurant in Greece

A	Andrea Marchiotto on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This could be 5 stars but it is not. Let me tell you why: - Food. We ordered fresh fish. That was of course super good, but the garnish was pretty "dry". We also ordered mussels but they weren't as good as the ones tried a few days before at Castro - Hygiene. The bathroom was dirty - Timing. It took more than 20 min. from the serving of the first and only dish to the others. Basically only one person could eat Good things about this place are the lovely service and the amazing view.

Little too dry, but that's the snappers thing. The rose house wine - delicious. Service and all great. I just wish the owner would diverse the are for smokers and non smokers (depending on the minor winds). Lots of people lose a taste when inhaling others flumes.
T	Tzetze Fly on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely food at high prices, especially if you’re after fish. The standout dish from our meal was the raw sea urchin appetizer, which was really fresh and sweet. Never had sea urchin in olive oil before, but it was delicious. This was followed by some mussels (with some empty shells) and calamari (delicious except for the burnt bits). The main dish was a nice fresh black snapper which was deboned at the table. This was also the big-ticket item at over €40 per kilo. The meal ended with dessert, a plate of watermelon and a carafe of raki, without extra charge. All in all, I would eat here just on special occasions because of the price (about €100 for two people).

If you are undecided about what to order, ask for the staff recommendation and be happy! Great food in a great location, feels like an authentic Greek taverna!
S	Shahnaz Alami on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Location is perfect , the Seafood spaghitti was so delicious , the fried kalamaris were okay , but the fresh fish were a bit dissapointig either with the way they were grilled or with the freshness level. A bit pricier than other fish taverns in crete, but over all is acceptable and would love to give them a second chance next time i am in paleochora... The waiters were polite and decent like always in crete... We had a problem with the bill where they charged us an extra dish but when i told the waiter he appologized and took it away..

The restaurant is run by a family and the staff was very keen to give us the best experience. I have to say that my partner is Greek, so that helped us a lot during our trip. The food was just incredible. Everything was so fresh that it didn’t need any particular preparation. You could taste the sea. We had few starters, like shrimps and anchovies, with few sides dishes, like skordalia (potatoes and garlic), but the main was the grilled fish, which was recommended to us. Everything was delicious and didn’t not disappoint us. It could seem more expensive than an average restaurant in Crete, but we were very happy to pay the difference for the quality of the food. At the end we were offered the dessert and a bottle of raki. I will come back here for sure!
