This is where Pythia, the priests and the temple staff washed, and where the water used to clean the temple came from. The theopropoi - those wishing to consult the oracle - were also obliged to wash here in order to purify themselves.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Though small and appears insignificant it holds great symbolism and history. The water still flows from a small unassuming faucet... Yes it is drinkable I drink face first then filled my water bottle.
The priestess would bath along with the oracle before performing their ceremonies so that the pilgrims could be advised on the future. The bath of fates....
