★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place. The highlight of the whole trip. :-) assos is really beautiful and as you climb up to the castle you get an amazing view. :-) it's really green and beautiful :-) I'm in love- hope I will get a chance to return soon. :-) the parking lot was a little full so I would arrive early in the morning for a better chance of a spot. It was fine when I arrived but when I was leaving it got a little crazy. Worth it though. :-) few really cute restaurant in the village for a very relaxing meal. Great memories.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worth a trip in the early morning. We are young and fit and the journey up and down took 1-2 hours. Its more interesting if you go up the side of the mountain rather than the path. There is a fork in the road with two signs signalling the mountain path or the easier walk way. The actual castle is mostly ruins and not that interesting but the walk is nice. Try to get there before 9am.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Made a stop in Assos with family and decided to walk up to the castle ruins. There are two paths up, one that follows a stone road up and around the mountain and another that goes through the woods and along the coastline; I'd recommend wearing some tennis shoes if you take the coastal route, though I did moderately fine in flip-flops.
The castle itself was mostly in ruins, with a few structures still standing, and what looked like the museum building. Unfortunately the museum was abandoned and overgrown, and what pictures I took of the inside showed it in ruins and damaged by the elements. I would suggest that if you're looking to go up just for the museum that there's nothing there, but if you're looking for a nice hike up the mountain then go for it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An abandoned museum inside the Castle of Assos. Authorities should be ashamed. So much money wasted on this and now it is in ruins with broken doors and shuttered windows. It would be better if they have left the landscape without it since they do not intended to open it. Two stars for the potential of this place only.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you’re going to be around this area you can’t miss this! Take the 45’ walk (when the sun is very strong it can be a struggle, but nothing too bad) and go to this place. Get lots of water with you. It’s a very rewarding experience. A stunning high view of, you get the feeling that you are surrounded by only blue waters and of course the magnificent castle awaiting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A long walk up but a large castle to explore and amazing views as you climb.
You can follow the wide, well laid path all the way or part way up follow a track.
Beware that there isn't a lot of shade on the way and its a long journey, but the views alone make it worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Apart from the ruins there is a set of newish buildings which claimed to be the Museum. Needless to say it looks like a Counter Strike map rather than a museum. If you like abandoned places with doors kicked through and unsure flooring then this is probably a good one for you.
