★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Get lost in the narrow alleys of Sifnos castle and you be transferred to an era of pirates and merchants. Ages of habitation of the site are apparent both in the houses and churches (notice the ancient columns embeded in houses). Go to the top of the Acropolis for a stunning view of the Aegean sea. A must visit for all visitors to Sifnos. If you go by car, park in the free parking directly on the left at the beginning of the uphill road to the castle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must-see on a visit to Sifnos. Even if you are staying in Kamares, there are some practical bus options, including a direct bus (via Apollonia) once in the evening, giving you 45 min to walk around and enjoy the sunset before heading back to Apollonia for dinner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Honestly one of the prettiest and most picturesque towns in the Aegean Sea.
Perched on a hill above the sea, Castle (Kástro in Greek), combines Ancient Greek history, Byzantine and modern architecture in a unique setting of typical whitewashed and blue Cycladic style.
Do:
- roam around the streets without the fear of getting lost, you will eventually find your way out.
- visit Eptamartyres church (Church of the Seven Martyrs), if possible visit during sunrise for spectacular sceneries
- have a drink at the Cuban style bar, with its super laid-back atmosphere, unique decoration and amazing sea view
- observe the local life, greet the locals, smell and listen to the homemade food being cooked in the houses, listen to the locals’ conversations.
Don’t:
- visit and walk around Kastro during midday in the summer. Danger of heatstroke

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kastro, another must visit place. Walk along the narrow streets but also along the path surrounding the castle, don't miss the impressive view over the small church and the surrounding islands. At least two good restaurants.
