C	Ch_V OrthChr on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η ενορία της καρδιά μας! Ο Ιερος Ναός του Αγίου Γεωργιου βρίσκεται στο κέντρο της Νεάπολης και αποτελεί πράγματι την καρδιά της περιοχής. Στον Ιερό Ναό βρίσκεται πιστο αντίγραφο (από το Αγιο Ορος) της Παναγίας της Τριχερούσας καθώς και η εικόνα της Παναγίας της Παγωνίτισσας. Ο Ναός διαθέτει λάρνακα με λείψανα του Αγίου Γεωργίου τον Νεαπολιτη, ενω ταυτόχρονα υπάρχουν και τμήματα λειψάνων του Αγίου Γεωργιου του Τροπαιοφορου, του Αγίου Δημητρίου του Μυροβλιτου, του Αγίου Νικηφόρου του Κρητός (Λεπρου) καθώς και του Αγίου Γεωργίου του Νέου του εν Δράμα. Πανηγυρίζει με λαμπροτητα 2 φορές τον χρόνο. Πρώτη είναι στις 23 Απριλίου, μνήμη του Αγίου Μεγαλομάρτυρος Γεωργίου του Τροπαιοφόρου ( ή δεύτερη μέρα του Πάσχα και το επόμενο παρασκευοσαββατοκύριακο αν 23 συμπείψει Μεγάλη τεσσερακοστή/Εβδομάδα). Δεύτερη είναι το πρώτο Σαββατοκύριακο του Νοεμβρίου όπου τελείται πανηγυρικά η σύναξη των Νεαπολιτων Αγίων, καθώς και την εβδομάδα πιυ ακολουθεί. Ο Ιερός Ναός είναι βυζαντινού ρυθμού στον τύπο του σταυροειδούς μετά τρούλου. Το 1978 αγιογραφήθηκε, ενώ μία δεκαετία αργότερα επεκτάθηκε ο νάρθηκας και επενδύθηκε εξωτερικά. Σημαντική παρέμβαση στην αρχιτεκτονική του κτηρίου σημειώθηκε το 1993, καθώς αυτό βελτιώθηκε αισθητικά με τη δημιουργία περιδρόμων και περιστυλίων. Το 1974 είναι μια σημαντική χρονιά καθώς ο Ιερός Ναός, με την ενθρόνιση του πρώτου Μητροπολίτου Νεαπόλεως και Σταυρουπόλεως Διονυσίου, ανυψώνεται και ονομάζεται πλέον Μητροπολιτικός. Από το 2015 ξεκίνησαν έργα αποκατάστασης των αγιογραφιών και ανακαίνισης τους ιερού ναού. Πλέον όλες οι αγιογραφίες από τον κυρίως ναό έχουν αποκατασταθεί. The parish of our heart! The church has a shrine with relics of St. George the Neapolis, while at the same time there are also parts of the relics of St. George of Tropeaforos, Agios Dimitrios of Myrovlithos, Agios Nikiforos of Cretos (Lepros) and Agios Georgios Neos of Drama. He celebrates with brilliance twice a year. The first is on April 23, the memory of St. George the Great of the Troopier (or the second Easter day and the next weekend if 23 concludes Great forty-four / a week). The second is the first weekend of November where the Neolithic saints are celebrated, as well as the week following. The temple is a Byzantine temple in the cruciform type with a dome. In 1978, it was painted and a decade later the narthex was expanded and invested externally. Significant interference in the building's architecture was noted in 1993 as it improved aesthetically with the creation of corridors and corrugations. 1974 is an important year as the Church, with the enthronement of the first Metropolitan of Neapolis and Stavropoleos of Dionysios, is elevated and is now called the Metropolitan. From 2015, works of restoration of hagiographies and renovation of the holy temple began. All the hagiographies from the main temple have now been restored.
