The caves were a surprise on a visit to kalavrita. There are the usual stalactites and stalagmites but sadly the "cave lakes" that the site is famous for were practically empty.. the guide suggested it was the time of the year .. but that was after we bought our tickets... I must say I didn't find the price worth it with the features in the condition they were in.

A special Stalagmites Cave. Only part of it opened now. We were disappointed since the boat trip are not possible. Guided tour was only in Greek. However it worth a visit.

Incredibly beautiful cave. 5/5 stars. I rate it 2/5 stars because you get a whopping 20 minutes to see it all, even though you'd want to spend at least one and a half hours in the cave.

It's a nice place to drop by, but unfortunately the English is very limited, and my guide didn't speak English at all. I had to rely on a Greek native to translate for me. Also unfortunate that they don't allow photos at all, even without flash, despite saying they allow it without flash on the information board

A short and nice walk on a route of metal bridges that passes through beautiful art of nature Do not expect a boat trip or any adventurous trip, but it is indeed a very beautiful place that is worth those 30 minutes of your time.

The cave itself is amazing, lots of history in there. It’s a short but impressive tour. You can only enter the cave with a guide. Unfortunately, the guide doesn’t speak any other language but Greek. If you don’t understand Greek, take 5 minutes to read about it on Wikipedia before you enter.

Although there are 13 lakes discovered, the tour allows access to only 3 of the lakes. We were there in mid-May and the water level had gone down by half. The water in the lakes is still and there are no rivers feeding them. Quite a number of interesting formations inside the cave, and the more common stalactites and stalagmites. There were bats flying high above in the caves. You can download the English audio guide and pdf guide into your mobile phone at the ticket centre, follow the instructions on the posters. It does not require any data, just connect to their wifi. Complete the download before you leave the ticket centre.
