Cavo Grosso - Lomvardou 22

We'd bought combo tickets for Shipwreck/Blue Caves tour a day before at one of the vendors at Agios Sostis beach. The ticket was just a pink stick-it note with some basic info which seemed a bit weird but we took it. The next morning, we went to the La Curva meeting point at the arranged time 7.45. When the bus came, the driver did not accept our tickets and told us that another bus is coming. We waited for 1 hour, but still no bus. I called to the office and a lady told me that the bus had already left and we were supposed to take a taxi to the ship or re-book the date. Then we had enough and went to the vendor to get our money back which he gave us without any hassle. His explanation was that the bus was full which he hadn't even verified.

Great fiasco. First of all, measures for protection against COVID-19 are not taken at all. Crew and passengers did not respect the hygiene restrictions, annoying smell from engine emissions and grill made us dizzy during the trip. What is more, the ship was a great deal of old and was quite dirty. Noise from passengers and loud music disturbed us all the way and made us not to enjoy the trip. The stops were too short in length. I would not recommend it for any reason.

They are supposed to offer a free water sport ticket with every cruise ticket you buy. They insisted that in order to have a free water sport (banana) we had to go to the St.Nicolas beach any time before 13:00, because after 13:00 they will be very busy and they won't be able to redeem our tickets. So we followed their instructions and we reached the St. Nicolas Beach at 11:00 A.M. but the employee at the watersports told us that we would have to wait untill 13:00, because they don't do any bananas before that time. When we called the office to ask for clarification, the lady on the phone insisted that we could have a water sport any time we like...when we told her that they won't allow us to do banana before 13:00, she replied that she doesn't know why did this happen and that it's not her problem... Totally unprofessional, they don't even know what they are offering and whether they can fulfill their promises...

Don't get Cavo Grosso, there are many better options!! We booked a Navagio tour. We asked the lady selling the tours, Dominika, if they could pick us up at our hotel. They told us it was not possible and we had to walk to a nearby place "La curva" at 8:10. So far so good. At 7:55 we were at "La curva". By 8:20 2 buses had passed, none of them from Cavo Grosso (We showed them our tickets to be sure they were not Cavo Grosso's and they told us to wait for our bus because they were working for different companies. The logos in the buses confirmed that). At 8:20 we called Cavo Grosso. A lady replied and told us they would call the driver and she would loop back to us. She did not loop back to us so we called her again at 8:30. Then she told us the bus had already passed (a lie). We asked her which were our options and she told us we could try picking a taxi and making it to the boat before 9:00 or they could change the tour for another day. When we told her that we were leaving that same evening (and therefore changing the tour was not an option) she told us then the only thing we could try was to pick a taxi. When we asked if she could send us the taxi she told us "of course not, that is not my problem, it is yours". When we told her if they could wait for us a little bit in case we got a taxi she told us "of course not, it is a 130-person boat". She also told us she could not talk much as she was on the car. We managed to catch a taxi and asked the taxi driver to please go quick otherwise we would miss our boat. The taxi ended up costing us the equivalent to one more ticket to the experience but we made it. The actual tour was not bad: The boat was good and the staff were nice and responsive. We stopped in Navagio, blue caves and another beach T That said there are many options for similar tours so if I were you I would pick a company who first does not lie and second tries to be helpful instead of telling you to "go figure out" as you have already paid so they do not really care anymore. To confirm the bus did not came in the morning we picked the bus to go back from the tour to "La curva" and we could confirm none of the 2 buses which were picking up people to take them back to their hotels had been in "La curva" at any time between 7:55 and 8:30.

Seems to be a scamming company. The seller told us that we stop at Navagio beach and get off there so we can walk on the beach and make photos, but it did not happen. The seller was assuring us that there is 100 % probability that we stop at the Navagio beach and get off the ship. We also double-checked the weather with the seller and it was very good for dismark there. Anyway, some smaller ships parked there and people from smaller boats could go to the beach. Some crew members were smoking on the ship (not only upstairs, but also inside) even if there is no smoking sign. We were told that the bus will pics up at 8:00, but it was delayed almost 27 minutes. Before boarding they take your receipt (so you have got no confirmation that you have purchased the trip, because that take your receipt and they alooe to pay them with cash only. Also before boarding they take a photo of you and then they are selling some commertial material with your photo for additional 20€.

We were sold a trip by a rep on Laganas (Happy Tours) and told it would stop at 5 locations including turtle beach with opportunities for pictures and swimming. Instead, we were stood waitong for the bus for 45 minutes (no explanation or apology!!) then squeezed onto a big noisy ship and sat with a poor view as we chugged all the way around the island seeing very little and only stopping twice. Didn't go near the turtle island, couldn't hear the tannoy announcements explaining what we were passing due to the excessive engine noise, felt cold due to the wind and not being able to be in the sun at all. The food that was available was limited; pre-made ham and cheese sandwiches (no veg alternative) and a few snacks like pringles and snickers bars. In all, it felt like a wasted day.

Told to meet at La Curva supermarket for 7.50 for there at 7.25 at 8.20 we called the company only to be told we missed the bus which was a lie as no bus came to collect them we got told to get our own taxi after visiting the kiosk we purchased tickets from they told us there was problems with the bus when speaking to a third person we got told the trip is cancelled. Wish we read reviews prior to booking as the staff are complete scam artists the staff are rude and each time told us a different lie after lie! Disgusting!! Happened to four more people the same day for a different trip and all had to fight for our money back.

We have booked the all around Zante trip with the Delfini ship via Paron travel agency and they collaborate with Cavo Grosso. We were not offered the pick-up service because we had our car and we parked in the port. The ship left on time. The lady from the agency informed us that the swimming places depend on the weather. We had 3 swimming stops: 30 min near Xigia beach, 1 hour at Navagio and 30 min in some random caves near Keri caves. The upper deck is not covered so it can get very hot, but you can move around to the others decks. I think this trip is about enjoying the wonderful nature and it is a great way to see the island without driving for hours. Enjoy it!
