Chalkotheke - Zeus' Triangle

The approximately 43 meters long and 14 meters wide building stood in front of the southern wall of the Acropolis. For part of the building, a column hall about 4.50 meters deep in front, some steps of the outside staircase, which were located on its northwest corner and led to the building level of the Parthenon, were destroyed and built over. Zahlreiche Werkstücke dieser Restaurierung, die aufgrund ihrer Abmessungen nur mit der Chalkotheke zu verbinden sind, wurden verstreut auf der Akropolis gefunden.

Acropolis is definitely a must see historic location and there is no need to further discuss thid. However, I would not recommend doing it during summertime. Athens is very hot, so the humidity and the heat can be overwhelming for some people. Also, if you decide to visit Athens in summer, I strongly recommend wearing a lot of SPF and sun protection. Have water with you at all times! Plus tip: buy tickets beforehand, otherwise you may spend precious time waiting in lines.
