The check in times are pretty inconvenient for us (check in hours if I remember correctly were 11am-4pm and 7pm-late). Our 4 bed room was poorly lit and very cramped by hostel standards. Our reason for staying in Chania was to hike Samaria Gorge. We had read that this hostel offered shuttles to the Gorge so we had not pre arranged anything to get to our hike. When we asked about the shuttle they said that they couldn't for us so we had to scramble to plan our hike for the next day. During this scramble we had a few on how to get there but the woman who was working could not give us a single answer and made no effort to help us. I don't expect a lot from people working at hostels but help with public transit is generally something I expect. The back garden and hostel itself minus the rooms is quite beautiful though. They are also very close to the waterfront and restaurants and about a twenty minute walk from the Ktel bus terminal. There is also a very friendly cat who you might wake up next to if you're lucky enough

I woke up in the middle of the night with a horrible rash all over as I have a severe allergic reaction to bed bug bites - I had to see a doctor in the morning. I spent the rest of the night sitting in the common area as I couldn't sleep in my bed. In the morning I was told by other guests that there is a bed bugs problem and the management know this. I told one of the staff members that we wouldn't be staying another night and she was not surprised in the slightest that I was bitten. She told me they would be changing out all the linens and beds the next day but after we left I checked online on other sites and found some reviews dating as far back as 2017 that mention bed bugs so clearly they are not doing enough to address the problem. Wish I read more reviews before I went.

The place is pretty cute, has potential, but wifi only works inside, not in the garden so no chance of having a phone chat without disrupting anyone else. Also, some work was being done on the beds the next morning. No idea what they were doing or why (maybe dealing with the bed bugs?) But at about 8am a bunch of men came in and started tearing the rooms apart. No one had been told in advance that this would be going on, our washrooms were not usable and we were unable to access our things during whatever they were doing. Needless to say I only stayed 1 night!

Other reviews mention this and other guests that were there were also bitten pretty badly. I have been told that they are arranging new metal bed frames and mattresses so would be best to check the photos to ensure this has happened before booking.

n	nofont on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The 4 beds-room I stayed at had no AC, just one very loud fan. I would recommend you to get some earplugs as there is also an open air cinema and a busy street right next to it (I slept pretty well after buying some at the close by pharmacy). The bathroom is fine, although everytime you take a shower most of the floor gets wet. breakfast was ok and the girl that worked there at the time is very friendly. Tbh I'd rather spend a few euros more to get smth nicer next time, you get what you payed for i guess. They know that they're the cheapest place in Chania so don't seem to bother trying to provide anything more than that.
J	JP H. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bed Bugs!! Reception is shady, rude and they only take cash. The guy was sitting there smoking a shisha while checking me in. After check-in I went to my bed and sat down - within the first 20 seconds I see a bed bug crawling over the sheet. Took all my stuff, went right back down, showed him the pic and told him I’m leaving. He got angry and said to show him the bug in real - I just left at that point. To me it seems like this place has been run into the ground by the owners and management and they’re just trying to make a quick buck before it gets shut down, don’t stay here.
A	Andreea Dragomir on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ AVOID IT! They told me that if I arrive to the hostel until 14 I can get keys for the locker and set to my bed. I sent a message saying that I am running, and I will arrive, but when I got there, surprise, it was raining like crazy and there was no one to open, even if I confirmed I will arrive. Some traveller let me in, I don't see it fine either, the door was unsafe and open mostly of the time, everyone was going in or out and never it was someone at the reception. In the 20 minutes after my arrival I got stolen inside the hostel, I went to the police, I asked to check the cameras and as an answer I got told that I am a liar and a bad person. For what? For asking to revise the camera? Several people told me after they were thinking they are missing money, including some guests that exchanged finally for a more decent hotel. I am not sure the owner and the thief are hand to hand, or what was the real problem. There was no toilet paper, no soap in any bathroom, respecting covid rules eh? If there is no soap, imagine there wasn't disinfectant anywhere.
