Cocoon City Hostel - Kidonias 145

Such a wonderful hostel in a wonderful City! One of my favourite hostels ever! I was only scheduled to stay here for 2 days. but wound up staying a week! Most other guests I met here wound up extending for many nights as well, because this hostel exceeded everybody's expectations. The staff were so kind and wonderful, exemplifying the Greek tradition of hospitality. The space and facilities were very modern and clean, exuding the feel of luxury hotel. The location was perfect, just about 10 minutes walk from the old port, where all of the night life is. And the social atmosphere was out of this world. The (swank) pool area was the perfect place to meet travellers from around the world. Inevitably, you'll always find a great group to go out with when the night begins.

by far the best hostel of new generation on par with most high starred hotels (it is like hotel but you get fun of hostel)...stayed here over 1 and half a month as digital nomad, the operations there are almost perfect (as asian, nothing is perfect for me and there is always space to go higher, but this place is very close), from reception, cleaning and night guard, everyone there cares and they show it in their amazing work (bonus everyone is soo friendly)...the place is amazing for working nomads as there are many places you can work from starting in lobby which is more quiet, then common area (+dining space) with super comfy coaches (thats where i spent most of my time) or in courtyard with pool...bathrooms and basically whole hostel was perfectly clean (most hardworking cleaning ladies, shout out to them!)...other than that, hostel is perfectly located for travelling througout chania as bus central bus station is not even 5 minutes away, there are big shops and also tobacco shop nearby (around 5 to 10 minutes by walk)...location is also perfect for night life as city centre is around 10-15 minutes away (small bonus, when coming back from partying, grab 2 slices of funky's pizza that is on way home)...anyway this place was for some period of my life my home and i loved it...recommend to everyone

Really nice experience in thos hostel. All the rooms, bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchens are clean, modern and efficient. The name of the hostel fits perfectly to the feeling you have when you're inside !

Absolute best hostel I've ever stayed in. It's spacious, super clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful. It's ideal for meeting new people and discovering the western part of Crete!

Best hostel in Greece. Lots of friendly travelers hanging out in common areas. The rooms and facilities were very nice and clean. The pretty girl at reception was the best and always helpful.

He good - The facilities at this hostel are very good, huge kitchen, large common areas and very clean. Almost feels more like a hotel than a hostel. The bad - the whole place is a bit sterile, didn't encourage or breed a social environment. As some other people have said it feels a bit like a library. One huge complaint that needs to be addressed is the night guard. Basically at 11pm you are harassed to go to bed. Even if you are just sitting in the common area chatting ( no drinking or music) He stomps around continually and basically intimates you until you go to bed. Turns the lights off while you are sitting in the common room and stares at you , stands behind you if you are talking to someone and won't go to bed....11pm :/ Why is it not mentioned that there is basically a curfew on the common areas? Also placing bedrooms right next to the kitchen and common area seems pretty ridiculous in a country where people tend to eat and go out quiet late. Spoke to a friend there who had been having a shower at night with another customer there in the male bathrooms around 2 am. Obviously not the right thing to do, however the guard went into the bathrooms and instead of asking them to jump out and go to bed. Stood next to the shower for 5 minutes harassing them and telling them to come out. The girl instructed him that she was naked and didn't feel comfortable coming out until he left yet he wouldn't move. Very very odd and needs to be addressed as it was raised by multiple people who I spoke to as an issue, just when reviewing they felt akward bringing it up given the facilities were so good.

Very luxurious. Cheap price out of season. Amazing showers (great heat and water volume and unlimited time). Small very cold swimming pool. Great amount of common areas. New style look. Great service. Close to the city.
