Κρίμα γιατί ο δρόμος μέχρι εκεί είναι τέλειος, θα μπορούσε να αξιοποιηθεί καλύτερα το μέρος, όχι αποκλειστικά σαν χιονοδρομικό κέντρο. It was abandoned by chance for decades ... Too bad because the road up there is perfect, the place could be better utilized, not exclusively as a ski resort.
m	mrspitfire on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sehr schöne Aussicht, kan man mit dem auto erreichen... Wenn man sich traut. Vom Fuß bis fast zur Spitze 60 min fahrt. Hat sich aber gelohnt. Zu 80 % asphaltiert. Oben ist alles geschlossen also Proviant mitnehmen. Very nice view, can be reached by car ... If you dare. Drive 60 minutes from the foot to almost the top. But it was worth it. 80% asphalted. Everything is closed upstairs so take your provisions with you.

The hostel was closed a long time ago. There was a visible attempt at renovation. It is possible to drive up to the shelter via an asphalt road. Beautiful views.

M	Michanikos Apps on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Εύκολη πρόσβαση. Πανέμορφα τοπία. Αξίζει η διανυκτέρευση με ελεύθερο camping καθώς το καταφύγιο δεν πρόκειται να το βρείτε ανοικτό! Easy access. Beautiful landscapes. Worth the night with free camping as the shelter is not going to find it open!

Such places if they were outside would be completely different. Too bad, the abandonment and the whole scene reflects our culture ... unfortunately.
Π	Πανος Νωτας on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο δρόμος για να φτάσει κάποιος στην κορυφή του Παγγαίου κ στο καταφύγιο,είναι πολύ εύκολος είναι όλος στρωμένος με άσφαλτο. Η διαδρομή είναι απλώς εκπληκτική τα 2/3 περίπου της διαδρομής είναι μέσα σε ένα εκπληκτικό δάσος,δεν γίνεται να μην δεν μαγευτεί κάποιος απ'το μέγεθος των δέντρων.οξιες καστανιές καρυδιές σε απίστευτη ποσότητα. Το άλλο 1/3 της διαδρομής είναι εκτός δάσους κ με απίστευτα εκπληκτική θέα προς την θάλασσα.η Θάσος η Χαλκιδική η Πέραμος η Εγνατία οδός ειδικά αν υπάρχει καθαρή μέρα φαίνονται πεντακάθαρα. Περίπου στα 2/3 της διαδρομής υπάρχει κ βρύση όπου τρέχει νερό. Επίσης περίπου στα μισά της διαδρομής θα βρείτε τα λεγόμενα "λυόμενα", κατασκευές του Δασαρχείου όπου μπορείτε να κάτσετε κάτω από τα δέντρα να φάτε αν έχετε φαγητό μιας κ ο χώρος είναι σχετικά ωραία διαμορφωμένος κ εχει τραπέζια για πικ νικ. Το καταφύγιο είναι εγκαταλελειμμένο.ειναι μεγάλο κρίμα μιας κ είναι μια πολύ ωραία κατασκευή. Αν φτάσετε στο τέρμα του δρόμου δλδ στο καταφύγιο από εκεί υπάρχουν 2 εναλλακτικές. Α....με μια πεζοπορία ανεβαίνει κάποιος στην κορυφή "αυγό". Β...ή στις κεραίες της ΕΡΤ με θέα τον Σερραϊκο κ Δραμινο κάμπο. Καπέλο απαραίτητα κ παπούτσια για περπάτημα.κ οι 2 διαδρομές είναι σχετικά εύκολες. The road to reach the top of Paggaio and the shelter is very easy, it is all paved with asphalt. The route is simply amazing, about 2/3 of the route is in an amazing forest, it is impossible not to be enchanted by the size of the trees. Sour chestnut walnuts in incredible quantity. The other 1/3 of the route is outside the forest and with incredibly amazing views to the sea. Thassos, Halkidiki, Peramos and Egnatia, especially if there is a clear day, look very clear. About 2/3 of the way there is a fountain where water runs. Also about halfway you will find the so-called "detachable", constructions of the Forest Service where you can sit under the trees to eat if you have food since the place is relatively nicely landscaped and has picnic tables. The shelter is abandoned. It is a great pity since it is a very nice construction. If you reach the end of the road δλδ in the shelter from there there are 2 alternatives. A .... with a hike someone climbs to the top "egg". B ... or on the antennas of ERT overlooking the Serraikos and Draminos plain. Necessary hat and shoes for walking. Both routes are relatively easy.

Το καταφύγιο πάντως είναι κλειστό απ'ότι φαίνεται μόνιμα. Fantastic landscape, the road has asphalt but there are several places that show damage. The shelter, however, is closed from what seems permanent.
