★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Burial site associated with the Malia Palace site just south of here, where the famous bee pendant in the Heraklion Archeological Museum was found. It's fenced off but you can see in well and there's a sign with information.
To find it, go to the roadside taverna just west of the main Palace, then follow the path northeast along the seafront. Watch out for the chainlink fence.
If you go to the Palace and are hungry for more, then it's a pleasant walk and worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Much larger than the museum. Good walking paths. The Greeks tend to dump garbage on the sight. Still not many people around and great views.
