Chambre avec vue sur la mer avec une grande terrasse partagée avec 3 autres chambres. On y dort avec le bruit des vagues ! Le gérant est très gentil. Habitant là-bas depuis plus de 30 ans, il est également le patron de la taverne à côté (où l'on déjeune très bien par ailleurs). Je recommande les 2.

NEVER AGAIN! Manager was BOORISH, uncouth, rude, arrogant, and a threat!

Small rooms, beds not great, shower pretty much unusable. Only good part is that it's cheap and a few meters from the beach with great views.

Clean rooms right above the beach and taverns with very simple equipment. A short walk to the excavation site.

Waren 2016 schon da und es war wirklich Klasse!! Bin ein Thailand-Backpacker aber Kreta ist sehr schön. In Kato Zakros war Coral Rooms mit die Schönsten. Ein gewitzter Chef und nette Angestellte. Das Essen von früh bis spät gut, frisch und lecker. Räume sind echt klein aber mit Kühlschrank. Klimaanlage gibt es zwar, besser ist meist der Wind vom Meer. Kato-Zakros ist eine Ruhige Ecke, Kiesstrand (runder, feiner Kies), 3 Restaurants als Nachbarn und Eine Sehenswürdigkeit gleich in der Nähe. Bald geht genau wieder dahin. 28.8 - 7.9.18 Here Again! We see some Villages on Crete, think 10 or 12, Paleochora, Lendas, Kalamaki, Agio Galini, Ag. Nikolaus, Terza, Kastri, Keratokambos, Elafonisi, Vai, Bali, Matala, Rethimno, Ierapetra... BUT FOR US HERE IS OUR PARADIES! HERE IN KATO ZAKROS. Here with Akrogiali Taverne and Coral-Rooms. Crew and Owner are really wunderful People! We know, Rooms are small and the TV dont work proper (where else does?). But AC do working! And you have a Icebox in the Room. Shower is small. Dont throw Paper into Toilet... Thats mostly happen. But what a View! How Nice the Sun is rising on this Place! Easy to walk from here to Gorges End. Seawind all the time cooles us down, so we dont use AC at all. Breakfast from 7.30 AM till... Closed at 23/24 PM. Clearest Water! Lots of different Fishs, not far from Beach! Sure the Ground there looks like Dead - but if You wait.... snorkeling-Mask with you. Awesome then, we sit in an Aquarium, feeding Fishs (100-150 is no lie) with Bread (Just throw the Bread a few Meters from you away. The Fish arent shy :-) Thats remember me, I WANT A WATERCAM!

Nice (simple) rooms, very clean, directly on seaside.

This hotel advertises on booking (dotcom) that they are pet friendly and that pets are received upon request. My wife and I, we made a reservation and asked the owner if it's ok to come with our dog. As answer we received the words "you are blessed to choose us". We arrived at the hotel to find out the owner is an extremely rude person who refused to acknowledge the reservation (which would have been an inconvenience) and also refused to refund us (which in my book is theft), based on the fact we came with our dog. It is, of course, their right to refuse pets. However, once you set your policy, you should honour it. We called the booking agent and was told the hotel does not accept pets. The hotel policy was changed. Luckily, the cache on my phone still showed the hotel policy as pet friendly 10 minutes prior to our discussion with the agent. We recovered our money. This is an ugly story for us and a black spot on an otherwise beautiful island. The hotel is in a remote location and we travelled 5 hours by car to get there. We had to travel another 2 to get to a hotel the nice agent found for us instead. I wish Mr. Nico (the owner) all the best and may he be treated by a hotel the exact same as he treated us, when he takes his vacation. Mr. Nico, if you are reading this, know that I intend to check your hotel policy from time to time and post a warning wherever I can.
