★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible service. Very strange problems with card payment. Bad food: olives in cucumber salad was spoiled, seafood in seafood spaghetti was tasteless. Totally not recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were walking through the beach and our kid asked for a toilet, but the owner or waiter said "why didn't you choose another taverna for it?" And refused kid to use WC. We went to another taverna and spent good time there! I would not recommend, this is the first time on Crete I've faced this kind of service. Shame.

Except the conclusion: just because a lot of people arrived, they don't give us fruit as for the clients before and tell us it was too difficult pay with card ("now we are busy), so we must pay with money ("in a hurry" and without any receipt!). Sorry, but for this, they deserve just one star (or minus in my opinion).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Taverna Nikos Platanakis is located on the beach of Kato Zakros. We order a tzatziki, a Greek salad, moussaka and lamb from the oven. The service is friendly and smooth. The fries are crisp and the wine is good (retsina). The Greek salad is a bit simple. With a dressing or some herbs it would have been a little bit nicer. The rest of the food is fine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful! Located at the seashore, quiet and peaceful. The offer includes dishes of Greek cuisine and dishes for children. Very nice staff, they explained exactly how and what dishes are made of. We ordered octopus, Greek salad, Kakavakia, souvlaki, coffee and spaghetti bolognese for a child. Food is fresh and perfect, large portions. Wonderful Kakavakia. We also got delicious bread, dips, cake, cold water and raki as a extra meal. The prices are very affordable. I recommend to everyone.
