Daios Cove ***BABY*** Luxury Resort We (31+37 yrs) spent a week at this resort - SPOILER - it was not relaxing at all. The hotel itself, the rooms and the restaurants are awesome. Location is perfectly settled in a bay. The bay and respective beach is one of the most beautiful of Crete, the pools LOOK awesome. But they aren't. First things first - Daios Cove presents itself as a peaceful location to recharge your batteries. Well, it simply isn't. The resort if FULL of babys. I mean FULL. You cannot look around you, no matther where you are, without hearing screaming babys or very young kids. This goes on and on, morning to evening, beach/poolside as well as restaurants. There is no way to escape it. During our stay of about a week it looks like 8/10 persons visiting this resort are accompanied by a little baby. The beach is FULL of them, the whole shoreline is full of sand castles, playing kids, screaming babys, and even breastfeading moms right at the beach. Not what we were looking for. Note that the main pool looks awesome but it is, you guessed it, blocked by families with little babys and kids all day long, no chance to enjoy the infinity pool. Screams at all times - no relaxation at all. The adult only / quite pool is the smallest of all and does only offer 8 pair loungers, so it does only fit 16 people in total. The rest is sitting area for a bar. During our week we only had the chance to find a place there after 3/3.30pm, and they are closing that lounging area around 5pm for the bar and cleaning process, so you don't have much time. As said, the resort is beautiful and the employees are extremely friendly. But it is flooded with babys, toddlers and little kids that create noise above comfort level 24/7 and no matter in which area of the huge resort you are . On top, the nearby city of Agios Nikolaus is not worth visiting and around the resort there is not much you can do without having some hours of drive back and forth with a car. So if you plan to visit this resort to get relaxation I would highly recommend looking for another location. Lastly, the food options are extremely overpriced. The serving sizes are way to small for what they cost.

We booked the hotel because we were looking for rest and relaxation after quite a stressful period. Even though the hotel is visually beautiful, we could hardly enjoy our stay. Here you will find 90% families with toddlers and babies screaming all day long. This noise unfortunately took away any idyll and made the stay partly very stressful and not very comfortable. The prices are insanely high, the dishes very small.... You can only get to the beach and pool by lift, which takes a long time and then stops at every station. If you book the daios, you have be aware that you are only in the hotel complex. No shopping, entertainment, supermarkets, or anything like that.... All in all, we made the best of it, but can not recommend the hotel.

Great, close to perfection!! ?? This resort is just amazing! Everything has real high quality and is nicely designed. The rooms are big and have high quality interior. The pool and the beach area, as well as all the restaurants and lobby etc., just beautiful and always clean and neatly prepared. The spa is just beautiful and the gym is perfectly equipped. What made me wonder was the orientation of most of the rooms. Their view is towards the other side of the cove instead the sea. But this did not impact the nice ambiance while spending time on the balcony too much. Finally, the best thing about the Daios: the staff. Never have I experienced better trained and more friendly people working in a hotel or resort. From the reception, to the service and cleaning staff. Everyone made you feel welcome and helped you to enjoy your stay. To sum up: we were super happy and will come back!! Thanks Daios crew. PS: one thing to mention. The on site doctor needs to be approached with caution. I asked for some medicine one day and he asked me there questions. For this he charged me 100€ consultation fee ? Since the ambulance is an external party I do not blame this on the Daios.

A really beautiful and relaxing place to stay. The quality of food and beverage in the restaurants and bars is absolutely exceptional. Every employee is friendly and helpful and makes the stay overall a terrific experience! Especially the gym was my personal highlight - thank you for the great workout session and your exceptional physio skills, Aristeidis!

A beautiful hotel build into a hill. Very good and fine dining at the buffet and many thanks to the waiter Harris that made our dinners and breakfasts a really enjoyable experience. We were traveling with a toddler so an opportunity we see is with the open kids club. At >30 degrees it would really make sense to build an open roof on the outdoor area, also some more toys would be appreciated. The open outdoor space could be a super idea to spend some spare time with the child when it needs some actions. We will definitely come back!

Gorgeous vacation spot with excellent amenities. Daios cove is the perfect relaxing vacation destination. The gorgeous villa we stayed in was equipped with incredible amenities. The mountain views were amazing. The entire resort is designed impeccably so that the views are incredible and getting around is easy. The pool and beach are gorgeous and well maintained and the towel and drink service at the pool are excellent.The food is top quality and delicious. Our favorites were the Ocean restaurant for dinner and the Taverna for lunch however the room service was also an amazing option for incredible food that arrived quickly and was served exquisitely. The staff are kind and accommodating. The housekeeping does an amazing job cleaning during the day, providing extra towels and water and they even come in the evening to prepare the beds and draw curtains. In general all the staff are so kind including the buggy drivers and reception. Highly recommend this place for a family vacation!
