Damalas Forloklore Museum Collection, represents in the best way Damalas Association of Culture efforts to introduce the visitor who visits Damalas tradional village, (a village with more than 350 years of history) on who it was the every house of Naxos island in general. The Museum Collection stands on an original traditional house which includes the house hall and kitchen and all articles and artifacts that a Naxos island and in particular Damalas villager was using during the 18th and 19th century. All items are original from the village not reproductions and some of them around 40% come from the own house where the Museum Collection stands. Among the others a Visitor’s book is available where visitors can leave their comments and impressions. Admission is free of charge as the aim of Damalas Cultural Association is to preserve and let know Damalas village visitors of what was everyday life many years ago. The Museum Collection is open during the morning and visitors are very welcome! Η Λαογραφική Συλλογή του Δαμαλα με την επιμέλεια και την αρωγή του Συλλόγου Δαμαλιωτων Ναξου στοχεύει στην διατήρηση και την διάδοση της Λαογραφικής παραδόσεως και ειδικοτερα της αναπαραστάσεως της ζωής των κατοίκων του Δαμαλα τον 18ο και 19ο αιώνα. Η Συλλογή αυτή περιλαμβάνει εξολοκλήρου γνήσια αντικείμενα εποχής που αντικατοπτρίζουν τη ζωή, τις ασχολίες και τον εξοπλισμό των κατοίκων αγροτών του χωριού. Είναι επισκέψιμη πρωινές ώρες χωρίς εισιτήριο και θα σας ετυπωσιασει θετικά γιατί παρ’ ότι μικρή Μουσειακή συλλογή είναι πληρέστατη!

The Folklore Collection of Damalas with the care and assistance of the Association of Damaliotes of Naxos aims at the preservation and dissemination of the Folklore tradition and especially the representation of the life of the inhabitants of Damalas in the 18th and 19th century. This Collection includes entirely genuine objects of the time that reflect the life, occupations and equipment of the villagers. It can be visited in the morning without a ticket and it will impress you positively because even though a small Museum collection is very complete!
