Without the issue * I'll post at the end of this review, it would have been the perfect stay. Staff were mostly helpful and easily accessible with whatsapp. They assist in restaurant reservations, scheduling excursions, airport transfers, and there is room service, although we never took advantage. The water in the pool was warm and the breakfasts were delivered when requested and were delicious. Having assistance with carrying luggage was almost needed because it's quite a bit of stairs to reach the hotel. *Reduced one star because we booked one room with the amenities and space we wanted, and then were told we had to stay in another. They blamed the booking agency, but assured us they would accommodate us by moving us from one room, where the pool had no view of the sea, to another for at least one day of our stay. This was completely not followed up with. If you're like me and likely won't make it back to this beautiful island in your lifetime, call the hotel at booking if booked through an agency to confirm the room is the one you wanted.

Sifnos – Deluxe Suite with Outdoor Plunge Pool and Caldera View Avoid this room as the caldera view is a sidewalk of 2 meters, that is your balcony and their guests are passing by your door. The plunge pool has a cleaning filter next to the main door and is soo loud that you rather sleep than use the pool. The food was okay and the staff. Booking comments are manipulated and removed, read on google!

My husband and I cannot stop raving about our amazing stay at Ducato di Oia. We really were so impressed with the location and views from this property. It was surreal. Apostolis, at the reception, welcomed us very warmly and ensured our stay was more than we could have ever expected. We arrived a day late to our original check in date due to flight connection issues. Apostolis was so kind and upgraded our room to ensure we still made the most of our limited time in Santorini. He was wonderful with communication and always took really good care of us by making great recommendations on sightseeing and dining. Petros was also very friendly and helped us with our luggage during our stay (not an easy feat in Santorini) and brought us a beautiful breakfast to our room every morning. The breakfast was impressive and very delicious. Staying at Ducato di Oia, we experienced very personal attention and care for making our honeymoon so special. I would highly recommend staying here to any one who visits Santorini. I look forward to returning again to stay at Ducato di Oia. It was magical and really made our visit memorable far beyond our imaginations.

We love Ducato! Had a wonderful cave room with a private pool. Very clean and spacious and the breakfast was incredible. So glad we chose to stay here.

I do not know how this hotel can call themselves four star. The only positive I can say is that the room is beautiful and the bellhop was an expert at maneuvering our luggage through many stairs. I will go into detail about our frustrations but the BLUF is- the service here is horrible and for the price we were paying we expect a lot more. We’ve stayed at hotels with a wide variety of ratings and a 4-star place in Santorini needs to meet a certain standard. Check-in: Our check in with reception was fine, though I was surprised to not be greeted with a welcome drink as I’ve come to expect from similar hotels (it’s doesn’t have to be alcoholic, a nice refreshing juice is also welcome). Their website also lists a welcome drink as an amenity, but maybe it doesn’t apply to booking.com. Concierge services: The service here was a mess. Upon checkin they confirmed a cooking class we’d requested and confirmed they would arrange airport transfer for us on departure. We also asked if they could assist us with dinner reservations for that night even though we knew it would be challenging with last minute notice. They asked if we would like sunset view and we said that would be preferable if it’s available. They said they would let us know via WhatsApp and to please respond quickly because the reservations come and go quickly. My husband had to go back to reception because after 15 minutes I still hadn’t heard anything about our dinner reservation and there was nothing in our room about room service which is listed as an amenity on their website. The people at the front desk seemed to know nothing of our dinner request but told him they would follow up with me and informed him there is no room service. In fact their restaurant closes at noon. I finally got a message from them with a list of restaurants so we picked one and then we were told there were no tables available there. It is not helpful to be given a list when the list isn’t actually reflective of what is available. Ultimately, my husband and I found a bar where we would watch the sunset and dinner elsewhere after. Then I received a message asking if we would like them to arrange a transfer for us to the cooking class the next day. It turned out the cooking class was a 30 minute drive away and not actually at their restaurant so we opted to cancel that as well. We didn’t want to spend so much of our vacation running around. We were told that the temperature of the outdoor jacuzzi could be adjusted upon request. The second afternoon we were there the tub was fully shaded so I asked for the temperature to be adjusted and was told that was not possible. When I replied that I had been told on check in that it was possible they said that only maintenance can do it and only from 8am-4pm. This would have been helpful to know ahead of time. The room: I was a bit confused because their website says “bath with shower” but really there is a place with a handheld shower and that’s it. It’s very beautiful but not the most practical. Also the floor was very very slick when wet which caused me to slip and hit my knee rather hard. The room itself looks very appealing and the view is very nice. It would not be a good place to watch the sunset unfortunately. Housekeeping: I got a WhatsApp at 11am saying to let them know what housekeeping we needed and that it was available until 3:30pm so I asked for clean towels and towels for the pool. They dropped off towels but did not take out trash or make the bed etc. So the only housekeeping you get is housekeeping you specifically request, including that they bother to take out the trash. The breakfast: you have to choose a specific time to have breakfast and it is first come first serve as far as reservations so we weren’t able to eat as early as we would have liked on our first day. Last day we couldn’t enjoy the breakfast at all because we had to leave too early for our flight.

The views from this hotel are undeniably great. Service, however, was a bit lacking as we had an extremely bright light in our room that malfunctioned and would not turn off. For three nights straight absolutely nothing was done and reception didn't seem to care very much. We asked time and time again for management to be notified but it fell on deaf ears. My wife ruined one of her nightgowns ($80 value) wrapping it around the light so that we would be able to sleep, again, for three nights straight. We also notified them of this but got blank stares and no response. For a hotel that we paid $600+ per night, very disappointed.

We had the most incredible stay at Ducato di Oia. Having just got engaged the week before, we already knew it was going to be special but the staff went out of their way to make our stay absolutely incredible. We were greeted from our taxi and our bags were taken by a porter to reception, where all of the front of house staff greeted us to introduce themselves for check in. The breakfast menu is sent to you via WhatsApp and you can choose what time you want it delivered to your room. Our cave room was beautifully set out and nice and cool during the day and the hot tub and sunbathing area had the most amazing caldera views. The location was the best in Oia, only a few (steep) steps up to the town centre. We would absolutely come back and are so grateful for our amazing stay.

Oia is the most beautiful place in Santorini, and Ducato is the best place in Oia. Incomparable view to the Caldera without having to see any other rooftops, which is the most common problem in the area. Ducato is just perched on the hill. Just you and unobstructed view. Had amazing breakfast in the lounge area and could not decide if we wanted to go back to our private pool or not, because of the different view. Each suite offers a slightly different view angle which makes things even more interesting. Magical place and highly recommended. Will definitely stay there again!!!!
