★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η εκκλησία πριν την είσοδο μας στο σπήλαιο του Μελιδονίου. Μικρή εκκλησία αφιερωμένη στον Ευαγγελισμό της Θεοτόκου και στον Άγιο Νικόλαο. Χτίσθηκε με την βοήθεια του Νικολάου Κουβάκη που πέθανε το 1969 και τον έχουν θάψει στο πίσω μέρος της εκκλησίας. Εκεί γίνεται κάθε χρόνο η επέτειος του ολοκαυτώματος του σπηλαίου του Μελιδονίου με συμμετοχή όλων των τοπικών αρχών. Επίσης γίνονται και αγώνες δρόμου εις μνήμη της επετείου. Υπάρχει και μια επιγραφή του Ανδρέα Κάλβου για την ελευθερία. Ήταν εξόριστος και μακριά από την πατρίδα του, ο Κάλβος ονειρεύεται και γράφει για την ιδεατή Ελλάδα ?? της ανδρείας, της ομόνοιας, της αρετής, πιστεύοντας ότι η ελευθερία είναι το ύψιστο αγαθό για το οποίο αξίζει κάθε θυσία, μόνο που δεν είναι εύκολο, θέλει αρετή και τόλμη. Αξίζει λοιπόν ένα κεράκι να ανάψουμε εκεί στο εκκλησάκι.
 The church before our entrance to the cave of Melidoni. Small church dedicated to the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary and Agios Nikolaos. It was built with the help of Nikolaos Kouvakis who died in 1969 and has been buried in the back of the church. There is also an inscription by Andreas Kalvos on freedom.
