Χτίστηκε αρχικά στη Β Ενετοκρατία και αργότερα μετατράπηκε σε τούρκικο τζαμί. Από το 1828 περνά στα χέρια των Ελλήνων και τότε απόκτησε την σημερινή ονομασία. Καταστράφηκε σημαντικά κατά την κατοχή και επισκευάστηκε και πάλι το 1946. Σίγουρα αξίζει μια στάση στην επίσκεψη του κάστρου. The IN.
