★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η όμορφη και παλαιά εκκλησία του Αγ. Ιωάννη, με τις ωραίες αγιογραφίες, είναι ο ενοριακός ναός του χωριού Κυράς Βρύσης Ισθμίων, καθώς και ναός του κοιμητηρίου.
Έχει κτιστεί μετά την ολοκλήρωση της διάνοιξης της διώρυγας του Ισθμού περί το 1895 με 1900 από τους διανοίξαντας την διώρυγα.
Είναι κτισμένος δε, επάνω σε αρχαιολογικό χώρο και πολύ κοντά στο αρχαίο θέατρο των Ισθμίων.
Ο ρυθμός είναι σταυροειδής μετά τρούλου.
Στις 29 Αυγούστου τιμούμε την αποτομή της κεφαλής του Προδρόμου, δηλαδή την αποκεφάλιση του αγίου Ιωάννου του Βαπτιστού κατά διαταγή του βασιλιά Ηρώδη.
Είναι μέρα πένθιμη και τηρούμε αυστηρή νηστεία (αλάδωτο, δεν τρώμε λάδι) σε ένδειξη πένθους για την άδικη θανάτωση του αγιοτέρου ανθρώπου της παγκόσμιας Ιστορίας, (Ανώτερη από τον Πρόδρομο είναι μόνο η Παναγία).
The beautiful and old church of Ag. Ioannis, with its beautiful paintings, is the parish church of the village of Kyra Vrysi Isthmia, as well as a church of the cemetery.
It was built after the completion of the opening of the Isthmus canal around 1895 to 1900 by those who opened the canal.
It is built on an archeological site and very close to the ancient theater of Isthmia.
The rhythm is cruciform after dome.
On the 29th of August we honor the beheading of the Forerunner, that is, the beheading of St. John the Baptist by order of King Herod.
It is a day of mourning and we observe a strict fast (salty, we do not eat oil) as a sign of mourning for the unjust killing of the holiest man in world history, (Only the Virgin is superior to the Forerunner).
