★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The ancient theater of Isthmia is located 100 m north-east to the ancient Temple of Isthmia ( known as the temple of Poseidon).
The temple of Poseidon was first built in the 7th century BC and was reconstructed three times from the middle of the 7th century BC to 146 BC. The first excavations in the site were carried out in 1883 and continued in 1930, 1959- 1967 and 1980 - 1989.
The site has high historical value, and nice touristic potential, but it still needs a lot of work of excavations and reconstruction.
