The road begins before the St. Irini’s chapel (the small white one) on the road to Balos and descents from 158m to 68m. The road is very rocky and a 4X4 is the only way to cross. The road stops 260m before the monastery and there is a trail to get there. Someone can see the ruined domed cells of the monks and the natural water spring just outside the main yard.
