★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bardzo piękne miejsce, obowiązkowy punkt na mapie Krety! Jedyny minus z tego wynikający to bardzo duża ilość ludzi na plaży ale to zrozumiałe.
A very beautiful place, a must-see on the map of Crete! The only drawback of this is a very large number of people on the beach but that's understandable.

Beautiful scenery and beautiful waters! The road was unacceptable, the beach smelled awful from the toilets and the donkey farm was incredible! 14 euros per person for one trip ...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are hesitant since your car rental told you to not drive to Balos take a boat from Kissmos! The 8 km on the very bad road take 30+ min with the car and are horrible to drive. Is it doable? Yes! Is it pleasant? No!
From the parking it is a hike of 1,3 km down to the beach. We saw people doing it with sandals. Hiking shoes or sneakers are definitely an advantage! The view from above is amazing the beach itself also nice BUT when the first boat arrives the bay gets very very busy! Going early is recommended to find a parking lot. Since Elafonisi is a similar beach with super easy access Balos might not be worth the trouble!
